If you merely want to follow the status of your visa based on your passport number, you can utilize the ICA service, which can be found here: Visa holders will be able to verify the status and validity of their visas using this service. According to Muhammad, this service may only be utilized if your visa has already been obtained, and not if it is still in the process of being processed. “Through this approach, we can only examine the specifics of the visa status and validity once the visa has been issued – whether it is a resident visa or a visit visa.” When you click on the link, you will be presented with two options for verifying the status of your visa: ‘e-visa’ or’residency,’ which refers to whether you have a residence visa or a visit visa.
“If you already have an entry permit or a visit visa,” Muhammad explained, you can choose the e-visa option instead.
‘Residency’ should be selected if you are asking about your residence visa.
Step 4:Input your passport number, passport expiration date, and country of citizenship.
Step 5: Verify your identity by checking the Captcha box and clicking ‘Search’. The system will then offer you with information such as the visa file number, the Unified ID number, the visa status, the date of issue, and the date of expiration.

People are routinely mistreated by the agent, which is especially prevalent in impoverished nations. If you are planning to visit the United Arab Emirates, you should first verify the validity of your UAE visa online before sharing your joy with friends, family members, and relatives.
Why I am saying this?
Let’s face it, the personnel companies are dishonest. I saw people with cleaning visas, but the agents claimed that they were “stockers or industrial employees.” If you have one sort of visa and work permit but conduct other types of jobs, you are breaking the law. If you are a newbie to the nation, you must check your visa status online before arriving in the country. Similarly, UAE residents must check their visa status online after submitting their application for renewal of their visa.
How can you check your visa status for UAE?
Since 2011, the UAE government has made it possible for people to verify the validity of their UAE visas online through the GDRFA (General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs) website. - The Emirates ID is functional in all respects and allows you to roam freely within the United Arab Emirates.

Extension for India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Uganda citizens
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has agreed to extend visas for nationals of six countries, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Uganda, until November 10. The visas will be valid till the end of November. This applies to UAE resident visas granted by Dubai that have expired or will expire between April 20, 2021 and November 9, 2021, as well as visas issued by other countries. Many Dubai residents whose visas expired when the UAE put a restriction on inbound tourists from a number of countries, have been granted an automatic three-month visa renewal, which includes a one-month grace period for reapplication.
How much will the renewal of the visa cost?
Visa renewals will be charged at a rate of 500 AED if they are completed in the immigration office rather than having to leave the country.
How much is the overstay fee charge?
The following are the penalties for exceeding the validity of your UAE residence visa:
- For the first six months (180 days), the daily rate is AED 25. For the second 6 months (180 days), the daily rate is AED 50. Every additional day after the first year has gone is worth AED 100 per day.
Tourist visa
All types of visit and tourist visas, including business and tourist visas, can be extended for an additional 30 days once they have been sought for and accepted by the appropriate government. This can be performed without the need to leave the United States. In order to extend their stay beyond the first period, visitors and tourists can apply for a second renewal for a fee of AED 600 each time. If you overstay your visa and do not renew it within 10 days of its expiration, you will be fined AED 100 for each day you are overstaying, starting 10 days after your visa expires.

- Residents who are accompanying GCC nationals
- And visitors and tourists who are residents in GCC countries
Emirates
- Who is eligible to apply for a visa online using the Emirates / VFS Global system? The system is intended for use by Emirates travellers who require a visa to enter the United Arab Emirates. Make sure you know what your visa requirements are. This system is exclusively available to customers flying with Emirates
- Travelers flying with other airlines are not permitted to utilize this system. What are the benefits of using the online application system? By applying online, you will not be required to find a local sponsor in the UAE, and you will receive a response within a few days of submitting your application. You may also submit all of the essential papers and information, as well as pay for visa costs, from the comfort of your own home, eliminating the need to send documents by mail or fax. Moreover, if your visa application is accepted, we will update your Emirates ticket with your visa information instantly, making your travel more convenient. When do I have to submit an application for a visa? You can apply for a visa up to 58 days before your scheduled departure date, and you must submit your application at least 24 working hours before your scheduled departure date. As recommended by Emirates and VFS Global, you should apply for your visa at least two weeks before you want to travel. Do I need to apply for my visa at the same time as I purchase my tickets? Visa applications can be submitted at any time up to 24 working hours before your scheduled departure. On Emirates.com, you may use the online visa application system at any moment by visiting the Manage A Booking section of your booking history. In order to obtain a UAE visa when traveling with Emirates, is it necessary to employ this service? The answer is no: you may use this or any other visa service to apply for a visa on your behalf, or you can ask a relative in the UAE to do so on your behalf. Will I be guaranteed a visa if I apply online? Is it guaranteed that I will be admitted into the UAE if I obtain a visa? The decision to award entry visas to the United Arab Emirates is solely at the discretion of the country’s immigration officials
- Thus, neither Emirates nor VFS Global can guarantee that your visa application will be granted by the UAE authorities. In the UAE, the issuance of a visa does not ensure entrance
- The ultimate decision is made by immigration authorities at the point of entry. Is it possible to go by another airline after receiving a visa? No. Visas given through this service are sponsored by Emirates
- Hence, if the visa holder lands in Dubai on a rival airline, the immigration officials will deny the visa bearer admission into the country
- And What is the method for submitting an online visa application for the United Arab Emirates? To be able to apply for an Emirates visa online, you must first have a confirmed Emirates reservation. On the “manage a booking” tool, you can begin the application process by selecting “new booking.” You can then select the portion of the journey for which a visa is required, as well as the names of the passenger(s) who will be applying for a visa, before submitting the information and documents required to process the application, as well as payment, to the visa application processing center in order to complete the process. Following the completion of your application, we will contact you within four international working days to inform you of the outcome of your visa application. What is the typical processing time for a visa? In most cases, visas are awarded through email within four working days after receiving your application, provided that all relevant papers are presented correctly. What is the cost of submitting a visa application? It costs $69 for a 30-day visa, $44 for a 96-hour visa, and $165 for a 90-day visa to enter the country. In addition, applicants from certain countries may be required to submit a $272.50 refundable security deposit. For a complete list of nations to which this applies, please see this page. In addition, VFS Global charges a processing fee for each individual visa application that is submitted. All fees and levies must be paid in US Dollars. What is the amount of the security deposit, and will I be required to pay it? The security deposit is a sum of money that residents of certain countries must pay, and it will be repaid to you once you have completed your stay in the UAE. Depending on your country of residency, the system will automatically incorporate the security deposit. When will I receive a return of my security deposit? We will refund your security deposit within four international working days after you have completed your departure from the UAE and the immigration authorities have recorded your departure. Please ensure that you obtain an exit stamp in your passport as soon as you depart the UAE in order to provide proof of departure in the event of any discrepancies after your departure. In the event that VFS or EK is required to pay a penalty on your behalf as a result of any circumstance (e.g. overstay, deportation charges, flight tickets, etc.), the equivalent amount of the penalty will be deducted from the security amount and only the remaining balance will be returned to you. Upon the return of an application for a visa, the security deposit will be refunded within four international working days of the application being received. I returned from the United Arab Emirates more than four days ago – why hasn’t my security deposit been paid to my account? Your deposit will typically be repaid within four international working days
- After this time, you may check with your bank or credit card provider to ensure that the refund has been processed successfully. Remember that if you paid using a credit card, your refund may appear on your following month’s bill if you paid that way. Contact us using our online enquiry page if you have not received your refund within four international business days. What documents do I need to submit with my application? Is it necessary for all members of the family to submit documents? Every passenger who requires a visa will be required to submit the following documents, which must be submitted in electronic and color format:
- A scan of the photo and bio page of the passport. It is recommended that passports be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of travel. Color photograph in the form of a passport
In addition, the primary applicant for each application will be required to submit the following documents:
- Identification as proof of residency, such as a resident visa, a utility bill, a tenancy contract, a phone bill, a credit card statement, or an official printed address page in a passport
Aside from that, the following supporting papers, if they are available, may aid in the application process for a visa and can be supplied throughout the application process, under the category of “Additional Documents.”
- A valid visa for any of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, the United States, or the United Arab Emirates
- Evidence of travel to any of the countries listed below within the last five years is required: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates Documents demonstrating that you have investments worth USD 8000 or more, or local income tax documents demonstrating that you earn an annual income of USD 8000 or more. The documentation could be in the form of pay stubs, bank statements, or any other type of local investment.
- Other supporting papers, such as marriage certificates, birth certificates, and so on, may be required in some instances: If this is the case, we will get in touch with you immediately
- When I try to proceed with my visa application, I am unable to pick passengers. Why is this? Applicants for passengers who have already filed applications for them will not be able to be selected again – these applicants will be greyed out. The link we issued you via email is only active for four international working days before your scheduled departure date, unless otherwise specified. You will be unable to proceed with applications that were not filed prior to this time, unless they were submitted in the express visa category. My passport is about to expire
- Will I be able to obtain a visa in time? All travellers to the United Arab Emirates must have a passport that is valid for at least six months after the date of their arrival. If your passport is only valid for six months or less, you will need to renew it before you can apply for a visa and travel to the United Arab Emirates
- Otherwise, you will need to apply for a visa and travel to the UAE. Do children or newborns require a visa to enter the country? Yes. To enter the United Arab Emirates, all travelers, including children and newborns, must acquire a visa. Infants traveling on their parents’ laps are included in this category. We are unable to handle visas for minors whose passports have been endorsed by their parents. What method will I use to obtain my visa? All visas are issued through email, to the email address that was provided at the beginning of the application process, and are valid for 90 days. Is it necessary for me to submit my passport for stamping before I leave for my trip? The answer is no: you will be issued an electronic visa, which will not require anything to be stamped in your passport prior to your departure. All visas are delivered through email. Make a duplicate of your visa before you leave home and keep it with you while on your trip. What sorts of visas am I eligible to apply for? Is it possible to apply for a long-term visa online? Depending on how long you want to spend in the UAE, you can apply for a 96-hour visa, a 30-day visa, or a 90-day visa, among other options. Depending on your Emirates booking, the system will automatically determine the proper visa for you to apply for. Through this system, we do not provide long-term or resident visas for any reason. For additional information on these visas, please contact the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD). Is it necessary to get a visa for each stay in Dubai if I wish to make a stopover in Dubai on both my outbound and return trips? Yes, each time you enter the UAE, you will require a new visa. Through the system, you can apply for up to two visas for any one itinerary at the same time. There is a separate process for each visa application
- Therefore, once you have completed your first application, you must begin the process all over again for your second visa. Alternatively, if your schedule allows it, you may be able to obtain a visa that allows you to enter and exit many times. What is the best way to keep track of the status of my visa application? When you have completed your visa application, you will receive a confirmation email with a link – this will allow you to follow the progress of your visa application at any time in the future. By visiting to Manage A Booking on Emirates.com and selecting ‘Online visa application’, you may also keep track of the status of your application. Your visa application will be granted or refused, and if more information is necessary, we will send you an email confirming the outcome. What was the reason for my visa application being rejected? Unfortunately, because the UAE authorities do not publish particular reasons for denying visa applications, we are unable to provide you with precise information on why your application was denied. If my visa application is refused, will my visa payments be repaid to me? No: The UAE’s immigration officials do not reimburse visa expenses in the event of a rejected application. After receiving your application, your security deposit will be repaid to you within four international working days of the application being received. Is it possible to reapply for a visa if my first application is rejected? The Emirates online visa application service does not allow you to reapply
- Thus, you cannot do so. “Application initiated” appears next to my name on the Application Request page. What does this mean? What exactly does this imply? You have already begun the process of submitting an online application. An email with your web reference number should have been sent to you
- This number will allow you to finish the remainder of your application. We recommend that you check your spam/junk folder before contacting us if you did not receive this email. What is the best way to get in touch with VFS Global? If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through our online query page. Alternatively, you may talk with us by clicking here. Chat Now, Please be advised that all communications and correspondence will be conducted in the English language only. To proceed with the cancellation request, you will need your visa application number as well as your Emirates booking reference number. Please keep in mind that once a cancellation request has been received, it cannot be withdrawn. Click here to proceed and then choose the visa application that has to be canceled in order to proceed. Schengen Visa Types & Validity, Duration of Stay, 90/180 Rule & Visa Sticker
A Schengen visa obtained by any of the Schengen Area member countries entitles its holder to unrestricted movement throughout the entire Schengen Zone, including the European Union Schengen members as well as the European Free Trade Association Schengen members, subject to the validity and duration restrictions of the visa. In accordance with the type of visa issued by a specific embassy/consulate of any Schengen country, there are different restrictions that apply to the specific visa in accordance with the nature of travel and other relevant circumstances.
Uniform Schengen Visas (USV)
The Uniform Schengen Visa is a visa issued by one of the Schengen Area Member Countries that allows you to transit or remain in the desired area for a certain amount of time up to a maximum of 90 days per six month period beginning on the date of entrance and ending on the date of departure. Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein; Lithuania; Luxembourg; Malta; the Netherlands; Norway; Poland; Portugal; Slovakia; Slovenia; Spain; Sweden; and Switzerland are all accessible to holders of a Uniform Schengen Visa.
If you are traveling for business or pleasure, the Uniform Schengen Visa applies to all of the countries in the two categories “A” and “C.”
- When it comes to visas, the “A” category refers to the Airport Transit Visa, which allows its holder to travel through the international zone of a Schengen country’s airport without entering the Schengen Area. A transit visa is required for citizens traveling from one non-Schengen country to another non-Schengen country through a change of flights in a Schengen country airport
- The “C” category refers to a short-term visa that allows its holder to reside in a Schengen country for a specific period of time depending on the visa validity
- And the “D” category refers to a long-term visa that allows its holder to reside in a Schengen country for an indefinite This particular category, depending on the aim of the traveler’s journey, can be received in the following formats:
- Single-entry visas, double-entry visas, and multiple-entry visas are all available.
Single-entry visa
In exchange for a single-entry visa, the holder is only permitted to enter the Schengen Area once, within the time period specified on the visa sticker affixed to their passport. Once a visa holder has left the Schengen area, he or she will be unable to return, even if they have not spent the maximum number of days authorized by the embassy that granted the visa to them. The single-entry visa is sometimes misunderstood by those who believe it is about the number of countries that the visa holder is able to visit rather than the fact that it permits them to enter only one single nation.
Double-entry visa
For the most part, a double-entry visa works in the same way as the single-entry visa described previously. The only difference between a single-entry visa and a double-entry visa is that the latter allows you to return to the Schengen area after you have already left it once more after you have completed your journey. You should exercise extreme caution to ensure that you do not exceed the number of days you are authorized to spend in the Schengen Zone, as well as the time period during which you are permitted to spend these days in the EU.
When you leave the Schengen Area for the second time with this visa, you will no longer have the right to return, even if you have not used up all of the days you were allowed to stay there.
Multiple-entry visa
A multiple-entry visa permits its holder to enter and exit the Schengen Area as many times as he or she like, as long as the bearer does not breach the 90/180 rule while in the country. In accordance with how frequently you go to the Schengen area, you may be eligible to apply for and get one of the following multiple-entry visas:
- The visa is valid for one year with multiple entries, three years with multiple entries, and five years with multiple entries.
1 year multiple-entry Schengen visa
For this visa, you must have obtained and lawfully used three visas within the previous two years in order to be considered for approval. When you apply for this visa, you will be required to provide evidence of your prior visas as well as documentation of your journeys to the Schengen Zone. The MEV visa is valid for one year and allows you to enter and exit the Schengen Zone as many times as you want, as long as you do not stay in the Schengen Zone for more than 90 days during that time.
3 year multiple-entry Schengen visa
If you have received and legitimately utilized three visas during the past two years, you will be eligible to apply for this visa. This visa will need you to provide evidence of your prior visas as well as documentation of your journeys to the Schengen Zone when you apply for it.
With the MEV visa, you have the freedom to come and go as many times as you like inside the Schengen Zone, as long as you do not stay for more than 90 days in total during that time.
5 year multiple-entry Schengen visa
A 5-year multiple-entry visa (MEV) is issued to those who have received and legitimately used a previous multiple-entry visa that was valid for at least two years during the previous three years. Using this visa, you will be able to travel to 26 countries in Europe as much as you like within five years, as long as you do not break the 90/180 day restriction. The Procedure for Obtaining a 5-Year Multiple-Entry Visa for the Schengen Area
Limited territorial validity visas (LTV)
This form of visa permits you to travel just inside the Schengen State that granted the visa, or in other situations, only within the specified Schengen States that were expressly indicated when applying for the visa when applying for the visa. Aside from these Schengen nations, this specific visa is not valid in any other Schengen country that has not been specifically mentioned in the application. Any other Schengen country that is not the primary and final destination objective for the visa holder is prohibited from entering or transiting through the country where the visa was obtained.
Individuals who do not have a valid travel document but who are required to travel to a Schengen country due to an emergency of any kind may be eligible for this type of visa.
National Visas
The national visa of the “D” type is issued to certain persons who will be studying, working, or permanently dwelling in one of the Schengen nations for the course of their stay. It is possible to obtain a single-entry national visa, which is issued to those who require temporary residence in a Schengen country for a specific amount of time and for a specific reason, after which they must return to their home country. Certain individuals may also be granted a multi-entry national visa, which allows them to travel freely in and out of this Schengen country as they please, and to travel throughout the entire Schengen Area without the need for a separate visa for each country visited.
- International student programs will offer visas for a duration of up to one year
- However, certain programs may grant visas for less time. One who is preparing to begin a full course of study in one of the Schengen countries. The visa is once again provided for a term of one year, with the option of extending it. A teaching job at a higher education institution or research center in any of the Schengen nations that is focused on the individual and their immediate family members
- A professional who is traveling in any of the Schengen nations because of their competence, whether they are athletes, artists, or any other type of professional who is traveling with the intention of sharing their expertise
- Emergency situations, such as a medical condition that prevents an individual from leaving the Schengen Area within the specified time frame
Schengen Visa Types according to purpose of travel
International student programs will issue visas for a term of up to one year; however, certain programs may grant visas for longer periods. An overseas student who is ready to begin a full-time term of study in one of the Schengen nations Another year’s worth of visas are provided to those who qualify, with the option of renewing them. A pedagogical project at a higher education institution or research center in any of the Schengen nations that is focused on the individual and their immediate family; A professional who is traveling in any of the Schengen countries because of their expertise, whether they are athletes, artists, or any other type of professional, with the intention of sharing their expertise; a professional who is traveling in any of the Schengen countries because of their expertise; Exceptions include medical emergencies that prohibit an individual from departing the Schengen Area during the allotted time period; and
Difference between Visa Validity and Duration of Stay
The validity of your single-entry visa or double-entry visa, with the exception of a multiple-entry visa, which allows you to remain in the Schengen region for a maximum of 90 days during a 180-day period, is determined by the embassy you are visiting. The number of days you are authorized to spend in any of the Schengen countries, as well as the date on which you are permitted to enter Schengen and the date on which you are permitted to leave, are all determined by the embassy in your home country.
- The duration of your stay in Schengen is the maximum number of days you are authorized to be in the country.
- The “Last Day,” on the other hand, is the day on which you depart Schengen, even if you only leave for a few minutes after midnight.
- For example, if the period of your visa is 10 days and the validity of your visa is from 1 January to 20 January, your visa will be valid for 10 days.
- You can come in on the 3rd of January and leave on the 12th of January, for example.
- For those who have a double-entry visa valid from January 1 to March 1, with a duration of stay of 10 days, they will be able to enter the Schengen Area twice during this time period, assuming they meet the other requirements.
- If you stay for seven days on your first trip, you can only remain for three days on your second trip, at the very most.
- You will be entitled to enter and exit the Schengen area whenever you wish until the 15th of January 2021 if you hold a three-year multiple-entry visa that begins valid on January 15, 2018.
90/180 Schengen Visa Rule
Another point on which most multiple-entry Schengen visa holders, as well as nationals of countries that are permitted to enter Schengen visa-free, are perplexed is the definition of “nationality.” The majority of people believe that the 180-day term begins on the day your visa becomes valid, however this is not the case. Actually, the 180-day term continues to run indefinitely. As a result, if you desire to enter the Schengen area, all you have to do is count backwards 180 days from the present and see if you have been present in the Schengen area for more than 90 days within that time frame.
Check the Schengen visa calculator to find out how many days you have left on your visa to remain in the Schengen zone after your initial visit.
Visa Sticker
All of the information described above is contained on the Schengen visa sticker that has been applied to the front of your passport. Because many individuals do not understand how to read and comprehend the labels that are connected to visas, they get perplexed and frustrated. As a result, we have developed a complete post about ” Reading a Schengen Visa Sticker “, which will assist you in understanding all that is printed on the sticker.
Schengen Visa Extension
Short-stay In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on July 13, 2009 creating a Community Code on Visas (Journal of Laws of the European Union, 2009 L243/1), Schengen visa extensions are permissible in the EU. If, on the other hand, you do not have a compelling reason to support your application, your chances of receiving one are extremely slim. There are only a few valid reasons to extend a Schengen short-stay visa, according to the Schengen visa policy, and they are as follows:
- Arriving late
- Humanitarian considerations
- Force majeure
- Significant personal reasons
For further information, see How to Extend a Schengen Visa for more information.
