What to do in Dubai for 3 Days

In terms of height, the Burj Khalifa is now the world’s tallest structure, and has been referred to as a “Vertical City” and “A Living Wonder” by numerous publications. The Burj Khalifa, which opened in 2010, has two observation decks: one on the 124th and 125th floors, and another on the 148th floor. At 555 metres above sea level, it is the world’s highest observation deck, and the view from there is undoubtedly breathtaking. The Dubai Fountains (which are comparable to those outside the Bellagio in Las Vegas) present a music, water, and light display each night at Burj Khalifa’s base, adding even more spectacle to the tower’s already spectacular presence.

Take a 4WD Trip to the Desert

No matter where you are in Dubai, you are never more than a few minutes away from the desert. Spend an hour or so riding in the rear (or the front, if you’re feeling daring!) of a four-wheel drive across the sand dunes, allowing an expert driver to guide you through the high points and low points of this amazing terrain! In addition to morning and evening safaris, with traditional sunset meal options and the possibility to try sand surfing or driving an off-road dunes buggy, there are a plethora of desert activities available.

Dubai Mall, with its more than 1 million square metres (or around 200 football fields) of space, over 1,200 retail stores, hundreds of restaurant and beverage options, an aquarium, an Olympic-sized ice rink, and the Kidzania theme park, really caters to all of your shopping and entertainment needs. According to expectations, shopping in Dubai is a popular pastime. The shops vary from high street fashion to haute couture, with plenty of options to get your gold fix in the Gold Souk, which is located in Deira.

Experience The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

TheDubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoois located within the Dubai Mall, and it is open to the public. More than 33,000 aquatic creatures from 140 species live there, including one of the world’s largest collections of tiger sharks, which is found nowhere else on the planet. It’s a terrific spot to get away from the heat, and it’s one of the best things to do in Dubai for families.

Visit IMG Worlds of Adventures – the world’s largest indoor theme park

In addition to being the world’s biggest indoor theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventures has plenty to offer children of all ages. There are other adventure zones, including ones dedicated to the Cartoon Network, Lost Valley, and Marvel! Among the rides, our favorite was the Hulk Epsilon Base 3D, where you can strap yourself into a motion seat and watch the Hulk fight against his fiercest nemesis in a truly immersive 3D experience thanks to the “stereoscopic cinema dome.” As you might expect, there are height restrictions on the rides; however, there are plenty of rides available for the younger customer, with many rides available for those who are at least 1.05m tall, and a number of rides that have no height restriction at all.

Skip the line tickets are available for theDubai Adventure Waterpark and theWild Wadi Waterparks, allowing you to get in and out of the water as soon as possible.

Alternatively, if you want something more colder, Ski Dubai is the answer. Skiing in the middle of the desert is possible at the Mall of the Emirates, which is located in Dubai.

Shop In the souks of “Old Dubai”

Take the time to travel north over Dubai Creek to Deira, sometimes known as “Old Dubai,” if you are looking for something a little more traditional or “genuine.” Deira is the ideal location to immerse yourself in a history that predates the current rise of Dubai, though one might argue that Deira’s spice souk, textile souk, and gold souk were only forerunners to the incredible malls that now adorn the city.

For many tourists to Dubai, the gold souk is a must-see attraction. In addition to offering competitive pricing (with the price per gram being determined twice a day), it also has around 10 tonnes of gold accessible at any given moment, so you’ll be hard-pressed to leave without finding what you’re looking for.

Take A Cruise On Dubai Creek

A classic dhow cruise should be included as part of your Dubai vacation itinerary. Dhow cruises are offered both during the day and at night, and some even include a buffet meal at sunset, letting you to enjoy the best of both worlds: panoramic skyline views during the day and at night. For those who need to reach to their gold-buying destination quickly, an anabra — a tiny motorised water taxi – is the ideal mode of transportation across Dubai Creek.

With a variety of public and private beach access options, Dubai is blessed with a plethora of stunning beaches. There is no better public family-friendly beach in Dubai than JBR Beach and the Dubai Marina regions. The beaches include golden sand and calm waves, cabanas for hire, and there is a playground for children. Kite Beach is a must-visit for sports enthusiasts, since it provides kite surfing, beach football, tennis, and volleyball, among other activities. The exclusive Palm Jumeirah neighborhood is the place to go if you want a more luxurious experience.

Visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Emirates Palace, as well as the splendor of the Etihad Towers and Ferrari World, to gain an understanding of Emirati culture.

Take A Walking Tour Through The Historic Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

The Perfect 3 Day Dubai Itinerary

It was last updated on October 2021. The Perfect 3 Day Dubai Itinerary was first published in May 2021 and has since been updated. Prior to this journey, I’d only ever been to Dubai on a series of 12-hour layovers while flying to and from various countries in the Middle East and Central Asia over the course of the previous decade. On my most recent trip, I finally made the decision to organize a three-day stay in Dubai, giving myself the opportunity to see some of the finest that the city has to offer.

3 Day Dubai Itinerary: Day 1

At.mosphere’s first round of breakfast was a success.

From 122 floors above the city, take in the sunrise with Dubai. The morning breakfast at At.mosphere Restaurant in the Burj Khalifa is a great highlight of the trip, and it is definitely worth the expense, in my view, to experience it. As someone who had always wanted to do this, and who hadn’t been able to do so because of a stopover, knowing I’d have three full days in Dubai made it the top of my “bucket list” of things to do in the city. Reservations are necessary, and you may do so directly via At.mosphere by visiting their website here.

1. Remember that you will need to spend a minimum of 200 AED per person to get the best deal.
2. However, if you have the means, I definitely suggest it (I enjoy a good and unusual eating experience!).
3. However, this choice is more expensive, costing 375 AED per person.
4. to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday.
5. time frame in order to get the finest illumination over the whole cityscape.
6. You may always take advantage of one of these bargains on tickets to the 124th and 125th levels of the Burj Khalifa.

• Cost: A minimum of 200 AED per person for breakfast at At.mosphere, and 150 AED for the top ticket to the Burj Khalifa, both in Dubai. Burj Khalifa Metro Station/Dubai Mall is the nearest station.

The Dubai Aquarium is a must-see once you’ve eaten your breakfast at the At.mosphere Restaurant. At the Dubai Aquarium, you’ll get the opportunity to travel through the underwater tunnel while watching various species of sharks and fish swim past before entering the Underwater Zoo to discover more about a variety of sea life.

• Booking online in advance saves you money on admission (buying at the gate results in a significant increase in price). If you’re planning on visiting the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Aquarium, you’ll want to check out this Burj Khalifa tour. Combo offer for the Dubai Aquarium
• Burj Khalifa Metro Station/Dubai Mall is the nearest station.

The Dubai Desert’s Red Dunes are a sight to see.

Finish off your first day in Dubai with an adventure outside of the city’s glamour and glam, such as a sunset dune tour and Arabian BBQ in the late afternoon. Although there are other operators who provide variants of these tours, I would definitely suggest OceanAir Travels’ Premium Red DunesCamel Safari with BBQ at Al Khayma Camp based on my own experience.

These trips typically depart between 2 and 3 p.m. and last from 5-8 hours in length. Among the activities available are dune bashing and camel rides, as well as a buffet barbecue meal in a tent camp, an opportunity to interact with falcons, and several picture possibilities.

3 Day Dubai Itinerary: Day 2

It should be stated up front that this is the only activity on this schedule that I have not yet completed (but plan to do so on a future trip!) However, it came highly recommended by a number of people who had already visited Dubai. A 3:30-4:00 a.m. pickup is required for theseDubai Desert hot air balloon trips, as the balloons will be taking off from Dubai in the middle of night to transport you to the desert and provide you with the experience of daybreak above the desert. Go Snowboarding at the Mall of the Emirates

The hot air balloon adventure usually comes to an end about mid-morning when the temperature begins to rise. Visit the Mall of the Emirates if you want to get away from the heat. You may think I’m crazy if I suggest that you take some time out of your day to go to a shopping mall, but hear me out on this one. One of the Mall of the Emirates’s most notable attractions is an indoor ski slope, which is unusual for a shopping mall of this size. If you’re like me and you grew up in Alaska or another location with a variety of mountains and a nearly endless winter, a ski hill probably won’t be the most exciting thing you’ve ever skied or ridden, but snowboarding down a hill inside a giant refrigerator located inside a massive mall in the Middle East is pretty wild.

In addition, the Mall of the Emirates provides a plethora of additional opportunities.

Take a stroll back down to Burj Park to witness the spectacular Dubai Fountain performance if you still have some energy in you. These performances take place on a set schedule from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

3 Day Dubai Itinerary: Day 3

Explore Old Dubai

Dubai hasn’t always been the huge city that it is now; it was once a little village. It had more humble origins, having started off as a tiny community populated primarily by Bedouins in the early days. The broad region is referred to as Deira, and it is considered to be the old commercial hub of Dubai. The Al Fahidi Historical District is a must-see while in Dubai (also called the Al Bastakiya District). Al Fahidi is home to several classic Emirati mansions that have been refurbished, as well as numerous galleries and beautiful eateries.

• Metro Stations: Al Ras or Gold Souk on the Deira side of Dubai Creek, Sharaf DG or Al Ghubaiba on the Al Fahidi side, and Al Ghubaiba on the Deira side of Dubai Creek.

Keep an eye out for opportunities to learn about the city’s historical past, its traditional architecture, and even to sample some Emirati food while you’re in the neighborhood of Old Dubai.

Laze around at Jumeirah Public Beach

From Jumeirah Public Beach, you may enjoy the last afternoon of your Dubai vacation in the sun. Also, don’t forget to stay till sunset to witness the shifting hues of the sky with the Burj al Arab in the distance as it comes into view.

• If you take the metro to Financial Center or Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, you may then take a cab the rest of the way.

Where to Stay in Dubai

• Budget: The Bollywood Beach Hostel is highly recommended for those on a tight financial budget. My mid-range accommodation was the Al Bandar Rotana Dubai Creek, which proved to be the best choice for me in my opinion. The lodging rates were reasonable, and the hotel’s location was convenient for seeing the attractions in Deira and Bur Dubai. Booking a stay at theShangri-La Hotelis a popular choice for people seeking an unforgettable view at an affordable price.

How to get around in Dubai

The Dubai Metro is a convenient way to move throughout the city and reach the bulk of the tourist attractions. Tickets are charged according to how many zones you will be going across, with each journey costing between 4 and 8 AED. If you plan on utilizing the Dubai Metro frequently during the day, I recommend purchasing a day pass for 22 AED per day. Abra (also known as dhow): Abras (also known as dhows) are tiny traditional boats that span Dubai Creek. So if you need to get from one side of the island to the other, travel to one of the several abra docks, where a ride across the water will only cost you one AED.

1. Bus tickets are linked to metro tickets, which means that if you purchase a day pass, it will be valid on both forms of public transportation.
2. Fares are metered, and you may even pay for your journey with a credit card if you like.
3. Using Uber or Careem: Both Uber and Careem are widely used in Dubai.
4. Deira Grand Souk is a shopping center in Deira, United Arab Emirates.

The best time to visit Dubai

Visit Dubai between November and March, when the temperatures are more tolerable and the weather is more pleasant. Temperatures continue to rise in April, reaching highs of more than 40° by May. Most outdoor activities are very impossible to complete during the months of June, July, and August due to high heat and humidity. Temperatures begin to decrease in September and October, with temperatures being comfortable again by November.

What to wear in Dubai

Because Dubai and the United Arab Emirates are rather liberal-minded in comparison to other nations in the Arabian Peninsula, covering the knees and shoulders is recommended as a general rule of thumb.

See the famous Burj Khalifa

Spend your final day in Dubai visiting the world’s highest structure, the Burj Khalifa. Even if you are only in Dubai for a single day, this should definitely be on your list of things to do. From the outside, the views are breathtaking, and it is entertaining to see how far you can stretch your neck to reach the very pinnacle of the tower. If you want to feel like you’re on top of the world, the Burj Khalifa provides visits to the observation decks on levels 124 and 125. Taking in the sights of the city from above is an amazing experience that you should not pass up if your budget permits it!

People Watch at The Dubai Mall

Next, pay a visit to The Dubai Mall! With some of the world’s most costly boutique labels housed in its halls, the shopping mall is one of the largest in the world.

While those may be out of reach for the average traveler’s budget, the mall does provide two attractions that are absolutely free of charge: the aquarium and the dancing fountains (shown).

In this aquarium, you may observe around 300 sharks and rays, as well as thousands of different sea species, among other things. It is very incredible to be able to observe such magnificent creatures up close! However, because to the fact that it is free, the area in front of the aquarium is often packed, making it difficult to find a location where you can get a decent view. Cost:Free!

See a Dancing Fountain Show near the Dubai Mall

However, I must say that growing up in the United Arab Emirates has provided me with many unforgettable memories, and I still stop by and have a look at these exhibitions whenever I am at The Dubai Mall.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard

If you have the luxury of leisure, I recommend taking a stroll down the pathway that runs beside Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. As a resident of Dubai, I strongly advise you to visit this location even if you only have a brief layover in the city since it truly encapsulates the “feel” of the city. Once the sun sets, it appears as though the city comes to life, and there are several eateries to discover as you stroll. Mezza House is one of my favorite restaurants on the street, and Karak House is a great place to stop for tea if you’re in the mood for it.

The location is also fantastic for people watching, so I like to sit there and work with a cup of coffee from time to time.

Transportation in Dubai on a Budget

You might want to consider using the Al Ras Metro, which will take you to several of the locations on this route. In addition, ride-sharing applications such as Uber or Careem provide a significantly less expensive option to taxis in Dubai. If you plan on touring areas outside of the city center, renting a car while in Dubai may be a good idea.

Budget Hotels in Dubai

When compared to many other parts of the globe, housing in Dubai is not going to be inexpensive. However, there are some excellent (and comparatively!) economical locations to stay in this famously pricey city. If you just have a short amount of time in Dubai and don’t want to leave the airport, consider staying at the Dubai Transit Hotel, which is conveniently located within security at the airport and is really handy. Atana Hotel– Located within a 5-minute drive from the Mall of Emirates (the hotel provides a shuttle service), this 4-star hotel offers a luxurious stay at a reasonable price.

As a result of its proximity to Dubai International Airport (just a 7-minute drive away), the Rove City Centre is a convenient choice.

The Top One Hostel– With rooms that are both mixed and separated by gender, this hostel is one of the most affordable alternatives available in Dubai.

It’s about 6 kilometers away from the Mall and offers a pleasant common space as well as a little outdoor pool for cooling off. This is an excellent spot to meet other visitors with whom to explore the city.

Planning your holiday to Dubai

Despite the fact that Dubai is recognized as a wealthy city, and it is easy to lose sight of your finances while there, going to Dubai on a budget is simple if you follow these suggestions and prepare ahead of time.
