As you walk around the historic souks and market locations, you’ll get a sense of old Dubai. The Al Fahidi neighborhood is an excellent place to begin your sightseeing tour of the city. Learn about Dubai’s history by paying a visit to the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House. Choose between an old Dubai trip and a historical spice tour to learn more about the traditional souks and to view the amazing gold souks of the city. Bastakiya’s galleries and bazaar are worth exploring.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, ride a traditional abra boat up the river to Bastakiya, which is known for its design area. You’ll discover art galleries as well as a textile market at this location. A spectacular camel ride and a local BBQ meal will help you to slow down after your heart rate has started to race. Day 4: Head to Abu Dhabi

INTERESTING FACT: Even if you total up all the gold that has been accumulated in the gold souk, you will end up with more than 10,000kg of gold in your possession. It sounds a little weird, doesn’t it?

2.2. Navigate the Dubai Creek

The Dubai Stream is a saline water creek that used to be known as the Zara River by the Greeks and was traversed by dhows (traditional sailing vessels). A dhow is a traditional ship from the Arabian area that has been used by residents for many years to cross the creek and negotiate the city’s narrow streets. Alternatively, you may grab a public Abra ride for AED 1 (US$0.30) to transport you over the creek so that you can experience the local way of life while also avoiding the traffic! INTERESTING FACT: The building of the Dubai Creek Tower is presently underway.

2.3. Hop on a boat cruise (dhow cruise)

Traveling on a dhow ride along the Dubai Creek is one of the most popular activities in the city. For example, you may take a Dhow Tour, such as this 1-hour sightseeing cruise in the Dubai Marina, during which you’ll be able to enjoy landmarks such as Atlantis and The Palm Jumeirah while sipping on a few beverages. Alternatively, you may have supper while taking in the sights and sounds of Dubai’s wonderful waterways on a 2-hour sumptuous dinner cruise around the Dubai Creek. The third day of this schedule in the city is dedicated to touring the world-famous Palm Jumeirah Dubai resort! Located in the heart of Dubai, the Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island in the shape of a 5-kilometer-long palm tree that is home to many of the city’s most luxurious hotels and attractions. Although it is likely that you will be staying in this artificial archipelago, if you are not, you may schedule a jet ski or speedboat trip to get a feel for the area.

3.1. Chill at the Atlantis – Imperial Beach Club

Exploring the world-famous Palm Jumeirah Dubai is the focus of the third day of our itinerary in the city. Located in the heart of Dubai, the Palm Jumeirah is a man-made archipelago in the shape of a 5-kilometer-long palm tree, which is home to several premium hotels and tourist attractions.

If you are staying in this artificial archipelago, it is likely that you will take this jet ski or speedboat excursion, but if you are not, you may still do this tour!

3.2 Get wet at Aquaventure Waterpark

If you’re searching for a place to cool yourself in the summer heat, go no further than Aquatica Waterpark. One disadvantage of this theme park is that it may take more than one day to experience all of its slides and attractions. Prices are US$90 on the official website, but I have found a better deal for just US$79 that allows you entry to all attractions as well as the Lost Chambers Aquarium, which I will discuss further down in this post!

The Dubai Miracle Garden is a floral garden that spans more than 72,000 square meters and is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the largest flower garden in the world, with more than 50 million different varieties of flowers! Several portions of the garden are organized into categories such as The Lake or Disney Avenue, which has a flowery castle and even a giant Mickey Mouse!

4.2 Take a walk through the Dubai Marina

Finally, but certainly not least, theDubai Marinais a location that, if you haven’t already, is a must-see during your Dubai vacation! You only have one option when a country is primarily comprised of desert: artificially fabricated water structures and projects. One of these is the Dubai Marina, which is a three-kilometer-long artificial water canal created along the gulf coastline. My first piece on the United Arab Emirates will provide you with an outline of how we spent our 5 days in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so that you can have a better sense of which Dubai sites and activities should be on your bucket list when you visit.

Day1: The Dubai Marina

After a 13-hour journey from the United States, we landed in the late afternoon. We were quite fatigued by the time we made it through immigration, collected our belongings, and drove 40 minutes in Dubai traffic to our hotel. Our lovely hotel, The Address Dubai Marina, provided us with a wonderful afternoon snooze, and we chose to dine in the region that evening. It is a gorgeous and handy spot in Dubai to have a boat in the marina. There are several stores and restaurants, as well as the Dubai Marina mall.

Day2: Hop On, Hop Off Bus, Gold Souks, High Tea at Burj Al Arab

Skyview Restaurant

In their Skyview restaurant, which is located on the top level, guests may have high tea. The breathtaking views of the city and the Palm Jumeirah were provided by their floor to ceiling glass windows. In terms of the high tea itself, there were dates, finger sandwiches, a tiny quiche, scones and pastries, as well as a glass of champagne and of course a wide variety of teas to choose from. There was live music provided by a harpist, and the service was outstanding. After tea, we made our way down to the outdoor pool area, which included a chic bar and a DJ spinning hip-hop tunes.

Day3: Brunch at The Atlantis Resort, Burj KhalifaThe Dubai Fountain

Weekend days in Dubai are Friday and Saturday, and brunch on Fridays is a major event in the city. After being stuck in rush hour traffic for the most of the day on Thursday, I decided to take the advise of other tourists back home and use Dubai’s metro system. Our hotel was perfectly located across the street from a bus stop that would take us to the Palm Jumeirah where we had a brunch appointment at The Atlantis Hotel. It was agreed that we would try the Saffron restaurant’s all-you-can-eat and drink breakfast.

Although there are various options for getting there, we opted for the monorail, which provides a unique perspective of the several islands that make up Palm Jumeirah itself.

Atlantis Resort:

The Atlantis in Dubai, as well as the one in the Bahamas, is enormous. As a result of the large number of visitors and tourists, discovering and walking to Saffron took some time. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on attending brunch at this location. At the entrance of the venue, our identities were checked against a guest list, there was a photographer snapping photographs, we were greeted with beverages, and we were herded into a huge hall filled with other guests. Following our visit to the observatory, we returned to the mall’s outdoor area where we were able to see the Dubai Fountain. In fact, it is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system (are you detecting a pattern here with the “world’s tallest and largest”? The team that developed the iconic fountain in front of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas also designed the fountain at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It was just for around 3 minutes that the fountain turned on after 30 minutes of waiting in the hot, humid air among a huge group of people.

Day4: A Day Trip to Abu Dhabi

After spending five days in Dubai, we decided to take a day excursion to Abu Dhabi for a change of scenery. At the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the biggest mosque in the United Arab Emirates, we began our tour with a brief introduction. After viewing so many photographs of this mosque, it was clear that it was a must-see and a definite bucket list item. It’s just gorgeous! Following our visit to the mosque, we traveled to the man-made Yas Island. Among the attractions on Yas Island are Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, and the Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

We began our journey at a falconry exhibit. The falcon is the national bird of the United Arab Emirates and is seen as a sign of bravery. Falconry, which is the training and maintenance of falcons, is a popular sport in the United Arab Emirates. After that, we went even farther into the desert to do sand dune buggying. It was an exciting journey through the desert for all of us.
