‘Sunken city’
A new vertical diving pool in Dubai features the vestiges of a long-lost subterranean city, complete with graffiti, decaying buildings, and even a big Marilyn Monroe photo hanging on one of the walls. An apartment complex and a library are on the premises, as well as an arcade including a classic Pac-Man game, foosball, and a pool table. Depending on how large the underwater city is, it will take many dives to completely explore it, according to the official website. Beginners may dive to a depth of 40 feet, while experienced divers can explore the whole pool, either with a guide or on their own.
Divers can also learn new skills through courses that are offered.
The visit was documented by actor and rapper Will Smith in an Instagram photo that has received more than 3 million likes in only four days after it was published.
Prices begin at 800 United Arab Emirates dirhams ($218 USD) for a single person.
The appeal of pool diving
Diving in a pool provides a number of advantages versus diving in the ocean. For starters, the weather and sea conditions may be manipulated to your liking. Neither currents nor rough waves can be found in the area, and dives are not cancelled because of bad weather. Even at shallower depths, pool water may have a good amount of illumination. The water temperature of Dubai’s new pool is kept at a pleasant 86 degrees Fahrenheit thanks to the use of 156 lamps strategically placed throughout the pool.

- The fact that he is an American is not a deal breaker for Kyle McGee, who lives in Dubai and has 15 years of diving expertise in countries such as Egypt, Madagascar, and the Galapagos Islands under his belt.
- While diving, we are typically preoccupied with detecting marine life, so it would be good to be able to participate in some uncommon activities beneath the surface of the water without having to worry about spotting fish, he added.

- Lindsay Myers, a television travel pundit, is interested in learning to scuba dive but is intimidated by the “unknown” of the open ocean.
- “This pool is fantastic because it is a series of small steps in the goal of someday diving in the ocean.” A representative from the neighboring nation of Oman, Liju Cherian, concurred.
He has shown an interest in scuba diving in the past, but has refrained owing to a persisting asthma ailment. However, he is interested in Deep Dive Dubai because he would like to “dive in a pool rather than in the ocean” – at least for the time being.
Another record for Dubai
Speaking during the launch of Deep Dive Dubai, Abdulla Bin Habtoor, a representative for the company, stated that the new pool represents an investment in Dubai’s expanding sports culture and adventure tourist industries. It is also another another architectural triumph for Dubai, which is home to the world’s most famous buildings, including:
- The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest structure, while the Gevora Hotel, with 75 stories, is the world’s tallest hotel. Address Beach Resort has the world’s tallest outdoor infinity pool. The Dubai Future Foundation is the world’s first 3D-printed commercial building. The Dubai Mall is the world’s largest shopping mall.
The world-record-setting The Dubai Mall is also home to the world’s largest shopping mall aquarium, where guests may cage swim with sharks and go shark diving with them. Dubai also boasts the distinction of owning the world’s fastest police vehicle, a Bugatti Veyron that was acquired for $1.6 million in 2016 and is the fastest in the world.
World’s deepest pool opens in Dubai, part of huge underwater city
(CNN) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is urging farmers to plant more crops in the coming year. Known for being the home of the world’s tallest building and the world’s largest mall, Dubai has now added another world-beating item to its already impressive list: the world’s deepest diving pool. Astonishingly deep at 60 meters (196 feet), the pool – which is part of the newDeep Dive Dubaiattraction – has surpassed Poland’s Deepspot, which has a depth of more than 45 meters (164 feet).
On June 27, the Guinness Book of World Records granted it the title of ” Deepest Swimming Pool for Diving.” The water temperature is kept at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit), which is a good temperature for swimming in a thin wetsuit or a bathing suit in summer.

A sunken city and an underwater film studio
In keeping with the UAE’s past as a pearl diving nation, the indoor pool is situated within an oyster-shaped building of 1,500 square meters. The underwater metropolis at Deep Dive Dubai, on the other hand, is undoubtedly the pool’s most prominent feature. Divers can explore underground city residences that have been “abandoned” and play underwater pool in the arcade. Inside the pool, state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment have been installed to create a variety of various atmospheres.
- A media editing room is provided in the facility, which is close by.
- In addition to taking a guided tour with one of the dive guides on site, divers can explore the swimming pool and underwater metropolis on their own.
- Furthermore, it is equipped with the most sophisticated hyperbaric chamber in the region, which has a capacity for 12 people in the event of an emergency.
- In addition to being the deepest and largest, the submerged city effect elevates it to the next global order.
There are so many things in there that it’s almost unfair to call it a pool.” If you’ve never played foosball underwater, can you call yourself a true foosball player? Deep Dive Dubai is a diving expedition that takes place in the Arabian Gulf.
Don’t visit the top of Burj Khalifa right after Deep Dive Dubai
In keeping with the UAE’s past as a pearl diving nation, the indoor pool is situated inside an oyster-shaped building of 1,500 square meters. The underwater metropolis at Deep Dive Dubai, on the other hand, is perhaps the pool’s main draw. In the underwater arcade, divers may play underwater pool while exploring submerged city residences that have been “abandoned.” Different atmospheres may be created inside the pool by using cutting-edge lighting and sound equipment. Also on site is an underwater film studio – the largest of its type in the region – which serves as a swimming pool.
Both certified divers and diving newbies can benefit from the courses Deep Dive Dubai has to offer.
Divers’ safety has been ensured by the installation of 56 cameras surrounding the pool, which are strategically placed around the pool.
Despite the fact that there are many deep dive pools across the world, Deep Dive Dubai director Jarrod Jablonski said that his facility is “much more intriguing.” In addition to being the deepest and largest, the buried city effect elevates it to the status of “next-world order.” A pool would be a euphemism for the number of things that are there.
In Dubai, you may go diving to depths of up to 100 meters (328 feet).

World’s Deepest Diving Pool Opens in Dubai
As it reaches its lowest point of 196 feet, Deep Dive Dubai has been dubbed the world’s deepest swimming pool. It has a capacity of almost 3.7 million gallons of water and offers a variety of underwater attractions for divers to explore. According to the latest Guinness World Records certification, it is the “deepest swimming pool for diving in the world.” It is located in the Nad Al Sheba district of Dubai and has the capacity to contain as much water as six Olympic-sized swimming pools. The constant temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal for divers who wish to optimize their exploration time without feeling too hot or chilly.
- The pool itself is styled as a sunken city — or what Kjoller refers to as a “submerged metropolis” — and has modern city fixtures such as light posts, ATMs, phone booths, billboards, and other signs of modern life.
- According to Kjoller, the facility is constructed in the shape of an oyster shell.
- Among the other features of Deep Dive Dubai include the ability to block out all natural sunlight, resulting in a daylight “night dive” experience, as well as a hydrophone system that can be used to transmit underwater music, soundscapes, and announcements to divers.
- “Deep Dive Dubai allows thrill-seekers to dive inwards and discover a new underwater dimension filled with adventure and wonder.” With year-round diving in a safe atmosphere, we provide an unmatched experience to our customers.
- The system is divided into three stages of treatment: Natural siliceous volcanic rock filters the water, which then passes through a NASA-developed ozonization system for microbial control before being cleaned with ultraviolet light.
- Additionally, the building has the world’s biggest hyperbaric chamber in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as a cafeteria and gift store for tourists, as well as classrooms, conference rooms, and other facilities for training and events.
“This facility is an investment in Dubai’s burgeoning sports culture,” Bin Habtoor explains, “and it will offer another world-class destination to Dubai’s burgeoning tourist industry.”
Deep Dive Dubai Opens World’s First Underwater City
Deep Dive Dubai has officially opened the doors to the world’s first underwater city. Divers who plunge into the deep, dark waters of a sunken metropolis find themselves transported to an alternate dimension where they are cursed by an unknown apocalypse as a result of their actions. Divers are guided down this lowering vessel by the thick roots of an overgrown tree, which obscures their surroundings from the graffiti spraypainted on the city’s decaying brick walls. While the city first appears to be an abandoned wasteland owing to the deteriorating architecture and gloomy lighting, subtle features evoking our modern world begin to emerge and breathe new life into this watery realm as time passes.
However, despite the fact that this seems like some odd, mythical world, this underwater metropolis is a genuine site that has been formally opened to the public for investigation, and it is known as Deep Dive Dubai.
Deep Dive Dubai was made possible by the creative minds behind these projects, and the project was able to open on time and on budget.

Despite the fact that this diving pool is four times larger than any other diving pool in the world, Deep Dive Dubai is not a location reserved for only the greatest of the best divers in the world.
Each and every visitor is supplied with all of the equipment necessary to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, regardless of their level or type of diving instruction.
Divers may not only explore an abandoned metropolis, but they will also come across a plethora of “land” activities that they can participate in while underwater.
Obviously, all of this activity may be rather demanding, but the facility has made it a point to provide various resting spaces around the pool where you can take a moment to relax, collect your breath, and take in the beauty of the aquatic environment around you.
While the one-of-a-kind elements dispersed throughout Deep Dive Dubai are perhaps its most compelling selling points, diving pools throughout the world are seeing exponential growth in popularity as a result of the excellent convenience and safety features they provide.
Compromising on these needs while also having to depend on the unpredictable nature of Mother Nature may be irritating, and indoor diving proved to be substantially less difficult than diving in the ocean.
Being the owner of the world’s deepest pool entails a great deal of responsibility, which is why Deep Dive Dubai has implemented a number of safety measures to ensure the safety of all of its divers.
The facility has 56 cameras installed throughout the pool, state-of-the-art water filtration, and a hyperbolic unit staffed with experts to care for a diver in the event of an accident, which is extremely rare.
Opening of DDD marks the beginning of a new age for not only indoor diving, but for all types of diving in general, and not only at DDD.
Divers may now not only safely explore depths greater than ever before, but they can also experience a new feeling of adventure unlike any they have ever known before.
