In fact, since the number of visitors outstrips the number of residents, the entire population of the emirate expanded by a stunning 459 percent in only a single year. According to a new study by On The Go Tours, Dubai is one of the top ten destinations in the world where tourist traffic outpaces the local population size, with total visitors reaching 15.3 million annually compared to a resident population of only 2.7 million.

Oman was fifth in terms of visitor arrivals to Dubai, with 263,182 visitors, followed by Russia, with 203,651 visitors, and Germany, with 203,651 visitors.
