When I say historic area, I am referring to the Al Fahidi historical district, which I believe is one of the nicest sites to visit in Dubai. The commercial district of Deira, with its souks, can be found on the other side of the Dubai Creek, just in front of the Al Fahidi area (traditional Arabic markets). In Dubai, it is one of the most intriguing sights to view. Gold souk is a term used to describe a place where gold is traded.

It is recommended that you take this 4-hour walking tour if you want to appreciate them in a group setting.

FACTORY OPPORTUNITY: If you tally up the weights of all of the gold from the gold souk, you’ll come up with more over 10,000kg of gold, according to some estimates. Seems a little out there, doesn’t it?

2.3. Hop on a boat cruise (dhow cruise)

Traveling on a dhow ride along the Dubai Creek is one of the most popular activities in the city. Day 3 – Palm Dubai

The third day of this schedule in the city is dedicated to touring the world-famous Palm Jumeirah Dubai resort! Located in the heart of Dubai, the Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island in the shape of a 5-kilometer-long palm tree that is home to many of the city’s most luxurious hotels and attractions. Although it is likely that you will be staying in this artificial archipelago, if you are not, you may schedule a jet ski or speedboat trip to get a feel for the area.

3.1. Chill at the Atlantis – Imperial Beach Club

The Atlantis is a gorgeous and massive hotel on the Palm Jumeirah that appears like it’s straight out of the Aladdin movie, and it’s a whopping 100 stories tall! 3.2 Get wet at Aquaventure Waterpark

If you’re searching for a place to cool yourself in the summer heat, go no further than Aquatica Waterpark. One disadvantage of this theme park is that it may take more than one day to experience all of its slides and attractions.

Prices are US$90 on the official website, but I have found a better deal for just US$79 that allows you entry to all attractions as well as the Lost Chambers Aquarium, which I will discuss further down in this post!

One of these is the Dubai Marina, which is a three-kilometer-long artificial water canal created along the gulf coastline. It is home to more than 50,000 people and has some of the world’s tallest structures! It is certain that you will appreciate this unique sport in the city because of the 85 m high mountain and five 400 m long slopes that it has to offer! I recently returned from a 5-day trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi with my husband, if you have been following me on social media, particularly Instagram, you will be aware of this. It has been a pleasure to share photographs and tales about this fascinating region of the Middle East with you. My first piece on the United Arab Emirates will provide you with an outline of how we spent our 5 days in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so that you can have a better sense of which Dubai sites and activities should be on your bucket list when you visit.

Day1: The Dubai Marina

After a 13-hour journey from the United States, we landed in the late afternoon. We were quite fatigued by the time we made it through immigration, collected our belongings, and drove 40 minutes in Dubai traffic to our hotel. Our lovely hotel, The Address Dubai Marina, provided us with a wonderful afternoon snooze, and we chose to dine in the region that evening. It is a gorgeous and handy spot in Dubai to have a boat in the marina. There are several stores and restaurants, as well as the Dubai Marina mall.

Day2: Hop On, Hop Off Bus, Gold Souks, High Tea at Burj Al Arab

The amazing views from our hotel’s balcony greeted me when I awoke in the morning. This includes a boat ride as well as an acrobatic act! Visiting the Gold Souks is a must-do.

The Burj Al Arab is a seven-star hotel in Dubai that is located on its own man-made private island.

If you are not a guest of the hotel or if you do not have reservations at one of the restaurants, you will not be able to access the Burj Al Arab. So, despite the fact that the 7 course high tea was a significant expenditure, I simply had to see what the inside of a 7 star hotel looked like!

Skyview Restaurant

In their Skyview restaurant, which is located on the top level, guests may have high tea. The breathtaking views of the city and the Palm Jumeirah were provided by their floor to ceiling glass windows. In terms of the high tea itself, there were dates, finger sandwiches, a tiny quiche, scones and pastries, as well as a glass of champagne and of course a wide variety of teas to choose from. There was live music provided by a harpist, and the service was outstanding. After tea, we made our way down to the outdoor pool area, which included a chic bar and a DJ spinning hip-hop tunes.

I had the impression that I was in South Beach in Miami!
And, sure, we ate again since we weren’t completely satisfied after the high tea.
It was one of the highlights of our five-day trip to Dubai to spend the afternoon and evening here.

Day3: Brunch at The Atlantis Resort, Burj KhalifaThe Dubai Fountain

Weekend days in Dubai are Friday and Saturday, and brunch on Fridays is a major event in the city. After being stuck in rush hour traffic for the most of the day on Thursday, I decided to take the advise of other tourists back home and use Dubai’s metro system. Our hotel was perfectly located across the street from a bus stop that would take us to the Palm Jumeirah where we had a brunch appointment at The Atlantis Hotel. It was agreed that we would try the Saffron restaurant’s all-you-can-eat and drink breakfast.

Although there are various options for getting there, we opted for the monorail, which provides a unique perspective of the several islands that make up Palm Jumeirah itself.

Atlantis Resort:

The Atlantis in Dubai, as well as the one in the Bahamas, is enormous. As a result of the large number of visitors and tourists, discovering and walking to Saffron took some time. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on attending brunch at this location. At the entrance of the venue, our identities were checked against a guest list, there was a photographer snapping photographs, we were greeted with beverages, and we were herded into a huge hall filled with other guests. It had the feel of a nightclub rather than a restaurant.

There were also a number of dessert booths set up.

This is an excellent environment for groups or those looking for a daytime party vibe.

On Facebook, I saw so many photographs of people sipping these Watermelon cocktails that it made me want to try them right away. But I was stuffed and couldn’t! Desserts, including vanilla and chocolate ice cream, were on my delectable dessert platter.

Burj Khalifa is the tallest structure in the world.

It is housed within the Dubai Mall, which is the largest shopping mall in the world by square footage. Tickets for the observatory, which is located on the upper levels, may be purchased in advance. It was a bit more pricey and busy because we went around sunset, which is considered great time for tourists. Unfortunately, because it was hazy that day, the views were not particularly spectacular.

The Dubai Fountain:

Following our visit to the observatory, we returned to the mall’s outdoor area where we were able to see the Dubai Fountain. In fact, it is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system (are you detecting a pattern here with the “world’s tallest and largest”? The team that developed the iconic fountain in front of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas also designed the fountain at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It was just for around 3 minutes that the fountain turned on after 30 minutes of waiting in the hot, humid air among a huge group of people.

Apparently, the duration of individual songs varies depending on how much detail is included.

Day4: A Day Trip to Abu Dhabi

After spending five days in Dubai, we decided to take a day excursion to Abu Dhabi for a change of scenery. At the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the biggest mosque in the United Arab Emirates, we began our tour with a brief introduction. After viewing so many photographs of this mosque, it was clear that it was a must-see and a definite bucket list item. It’s just gorgeous! Following our visit to the mosque, we traveled to the man-made Yas Island. Among the attractions on Yas Island are Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, and the Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

There will be a Fairmont Marina Resort and Residences built on the site of the marina, which will be a colossal pink structure that will add even more splendor to the neighborhood.

Emirates Palace Dubai:

Our private tour guide from Emirates Adventures was able to secure access to Emirates Palace. Thank you, Emirates Adventures! This is a five-star hotel in the city of Abu Dhabi. My husband was particularly taken by the interior of this hotel, which he described as having a classic elegance as opposed to the more current flashy décor we had seen in other hotels in Dubai. The Etihad Towers can be seen well from the hotel’s main entrance, which is located on the first floor. Five slender cylindrical structures that appeared in the Fast & Furious 7 film were built in this style.

I really like the external design of this hotel, which has a Moroccan feel to it and a golden aspect.

A few brief stops at date markets, fishing markets, and an indoor souk (marketplace) followed before we went back to the UAE capital. The Emirates Palace is located in Abu Dhabi. The luxury hotels Etihad Towers and Bab Al Qasr are located in Abu Dhabi.

Day5: Jumeirah Beach, Desert Safari

On our final morning in Dubai, we took a stroll from our hotel on the waterfront to Jumeirah Beach, which was our destination for the day. The Walk at JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) is an excellent place to go shopping and enjoy al fresco eating. I had the distinct impression that I was back on Miami Beach. We ate breakfast at Eggspectation restaurant, which had a beautiful view of the beach. My lobster omelet was amazing, however it was somewhat expensive at $27! Wading in the warm Arabian Sea was a pleasant experience for me.

It was a stunning view, especially against the backdrop of futuristic skyscrapers.

Dubai Desert Safari:

In our five days in Dubai, there was one activity I knew we had to do: a camel ride across the desert! Arabian Adventures was our first choice for this well-known trip. We began our journey at a falconry exhibit. The falcon is the national bird of the United Arab Emirates and is seen as a sign of bravery. Falconry, which is the training and maintenance of falcons, is a popular sport in the United Arab Emirates. After that, we went even farther into the desert to do sand dune buggying. It was an exciting journey through the desert for all of us.

I’m not a big fan of rollercoasters, but I really enjoyed this one.
