The Burj Al Arab (Arabic:,Tower of the Arabs) is a luxury hotel in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the tallest building in the world. It is one of the world’s tallest hotels, managed by the Jumeirah hotel company, despite the fact that it contains non-occupable area accounting for 39 percent of its overall height. Located on an artificial island approximately 280 meters (920 feet) from Jumeirah Beach, the Burj Al Arab is connected to the mainland by a private curved bridge (Burj Al Arab Bridge).

Site
In former years, the beachfront region where the Burj Al Arab andJumeirah Beach Hotel were located was referred to as Chicago Beach. The hotel is situated on an island of reclaimed ground, 280 meters (920 feet) offshore from the beach of the historic Chicago Beach Hotel, which was demolished in 2008. On this site there stood the Chicago BridgeIron Company, which welded large floating oil storage tanks, known asKazzans to the ground. Design and construction
A team led by architectTom Wright worked on the design of the Burj Al Arab, which was built by the interdisciplinary company Atkins. Rick Gregory, a Canadian engineer who works with WS Atkins, was in charge of the project’s design and construction. Construction of the island began in 1994 and employed as many as 2,000 construction workers at its busiest periods. Built to resemble the billowing spinnaker sail of a J-class yacht, it is a work of art. Two “wings” stretch in a V to form a giant “mast,” while the space between them is encompassed in a massive atrium, which is enclosed in a massive atrium.
The interior designs were led and produced by Khuan Chew and John Coralan of KCA International, and the project was completed by theDepa Group, which is situated in the United Arab Emirates.

Features

More than 70,000 m3 (92,000 cu yd) of concrete and 9,000 tons of steel are used in the construction of the structure.
The north facing facade of the 18-story atrium is formed by 12 independently tensioned two-layer membrane panels that surround the space.
However, if all mixed-use buildings were removed from the list, the Burj Al Arab would be the world’s third highest hotel, surpassing the Burj Khalifa.
Although the construction of the Rose Rayhaan, which is also located in Dubai, is 333 metres (1,093 feet) tall, it is just 12 metres (39 feet) higher than the Burj Al Arab, which stands at 321 metres (1,053 feet).
Rooms and suites
The Jumeirah Group is in charge of running the hotel. In spite of its enormous size, the Burj Al Arab has just 28 double-story levels, which can house a total of 202 bedroom suites. There are seven different sizes of suites, with the smallest being 169 m2 (1,820 sq ft) and the biggest covering 780 m2 (8,400 sq ft). The design of the suites is a juxtaposition of eastern and western influences. White columns have a significant amount of power. Mosaic tile designs are used to decorate the bathrooms.

It took hundreds of laborers from Southern Asia to construct the tower, and they were paid relatively little in return. According to some stories, they were required to labor up to 14 hours a day, were housed in appalling conditions, and were not permitted to leave the site. I visited the top of the tallest building in the world, and it was a colossal waste of time
- As the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the city of Dubai is renowned for its spectacular, recently constructed structures, such as the Burj Khalifa, the Palm Jumeirah, and the Dubai Mall. Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, is 2,717 feet tall and has 160 stories, dominating the skyline of the city. Although it boasts an observation deck on the 124th level, visiting the top of the Burj Khalifa is grueling, overhyped, and, simply, uninteresting. While the Burj Khalifa is a wonder from below, climbing to its summit is an arduous, overhyped, and, frankly, boring experience. While the observatory is small, the climb to the top is excruciatingly lengthy, and the view is little to write home about, the experience is still worthwhile. To visit the Burj Khalifa, you have to buy a ticket for a certain date and time. The price depends on the time. If you want to go around 5 p.m. (sunset), it could be as much as $60. I decided to go around 7 p.m., costing me $40.

- On July 24, 2007, the Burj Dubai was officially designated as the world’s tallest high-rise skyscraper, and on September 12, 2007, it was designated as the world’s highest self-supporting structure. The Burj Dubai is the world’s tallest man-made structure, surpassing the KVLY-TV Tower in North Dakota as well as the Warszawa Radio Mast, which was the previous tallest structure ever built
- It is also the first world’s tallest building since prehistoric times to include residential space
- And it is the world’s tallest building to include residential space since prehistoric times. The name of the Burj Dubai was formally changed to the Burj Khalifa during the grand opening ceremony in honor of the president of the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan
- “Burj” is Arabic for “Tower.” However, although the construction of the building resembles the bundled tube idea of the Willis Tower, it is structurally distinct and is not officially a tube structure. The structure was turned by 120 degrees in order to be less susceptible to being buffeted by desert windstorms and other natural disasters. The orientation of the tower’s setbacks was also changed from counterclockwise to clockwise. There are 192 piles falling to a depth of more than 50 metres (164 feet) beneath the structure, which supports it on a concrete and steel platform. Foundations with a combined weight greater than 110,000 tonnes and 45,000 cubic meters of concrete are employed in their construction
- The tower’s construction required the use of more than 330,000 cubic meters of concrete and 31,400 metric tons of steel reinforcing bar. Reflective glass with aluminium and textured stainless steel spandrel panels, as well as vertical tubular fins of stainless steel, make up the external cladding. The cladding technology has been developed to resist the intense summer heat seen in Dubai. In one year, the condensation water collected from the air conditioning system equals the volume of 20 Olympic-sized swimming pools, which is then utilized for landscaping. The sky lobbies of the Burj Dubai are located on the 43rd, 76th, and 123rd floors, respectively. Fitness and spa facilities are available at these locations. Building the Burj Khalifa was a priority for Emaar Properties, a well-known local real estate company that has also constructed several other buildings in Dubai. Emaar Properties is now working on the world’s next highest tower, which is currently known as the ‘Dubai Creek Tower.’ The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. It was Samsung Construction that was hired to build Burj Khalifa. Samsung Group is most known for its electrical products, but it has also built many notable structures throughout the world, including Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the Taipei 101 Tower in Taipei, among other things.

The regular ticket for entry to all three observation decks costs 370 dirhams, which is roughly 100 US dollars, in total.
