As part of a settlement in a custody fight with his ex-wife over their two children, Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, was ordered by the United Kingdom’s High Court to pay more than 554 million pounds ($1.03 billion) in damages.
