The correct pronunciation of Abu Dhabi may require some explanation, but the D in Abu Dhabi is pronounced with the tongue against your palate, just above and behind your teeth (if that makes any sense).

ABU DHABI was the only thing I heard, not ‘Abooo Dharrrrbee’.
No one seems to be able to be satisfied at this place:(.
A second example is when individuals say Midriff instead of Mirdiff, and I don’t have the heart to inform them that they have completely mispronounced the term!
For example, the same arabic names would have various spellings depending on whether you were speaking English or French; i.e.
I believe this is because it is Arabic and people may spell it as they hear it (phonetic).
Iranians (at least those I am familiar with;) spell and pronounce it in this manner, I believe.
hahahaha.
When people say things like that, it grates on my nerves.
That Auzzie lady kept repeating herself “”The Wiggles” are based in the town of Abooo Dharrrbee.” In comparison to the common ‘abba dabby,’ I like her pronunciation.
In light of the fact that she has an Australian accent and – I would assume – that she was tasked with making the voiceover I sound[/i’Australian for an Australian children’s program, how should she have spoken it?
