Plan a Amazing 5 Day Dubai Itinerary – Klook Travel BlogKlook Travel
If you are interested in creating a Dubai itinerary, a stay of around 5 days is the optimal length of time to take advantage of all this famous Middle Eastern gem has to offer in terms of tourism. From luxury to elegance to architecture, it has it everything, including the Burj Khalifa, which is the world’s tallest structure at 2,716 meters. It’s no surprise that tourism in this city is soaring to dizzying heights and is anticipated to continue to increase at an exponential rate in the coming years.
The activities available vary from gourmet dining to dune bashing, sky diving to skiing, kayaking to nightclubbing and everything in between.
Let’s start from the very beginning of the story.
Day 1: The Burj Khalifa
In order to get the most out of a visit to Dubai, a stay of around 5 days is the optimal length of time to soak up as much as possible of this renowned Middle Eastern jewel. This city, which includes the Burj Khalifa, is known for everything from its luxury to its flair to its architecture. The fact that tourism in this city is exploding and is likely to continue to rise at an exponential rate in the coming years is no coincidence. However, because tourism in this metropolis is still in its infancy, travelers from all over the world are unsure of what to do in the United Arab Emirates.
Each and every person will find something they enjoy.
Day 2: Dubai Mall Day
Yes, you are correct. It should come as no surprise that Dubai is home to the world’s largest mall. The Dubai Mall features around 1,200 stores ranging from Zara to the Hershey Store, as well as outstanding restaurants, a big aquarium, an ice rink, and an indoor skiing resort known as Ski Dubai. The Dubai Mall is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Isn’t that crazy? The fact that there is so much to do and see makes this a fantastic way to spend the day. This shopping experience in Dubai is unlike anything else you’ve had before.
- The Dubai Mall Fountain, which is a popular tourist attraction in Dubai, would be an excellent location to have a dinner.
- Afternoon: The Dubai Aquarium, located in the middle of the mall, is only faintly visible from the outside, but visitors may get entry to all floors by purchasing a ticket.
- Ski Dubai is a fantastic destination for ski enthusiasts.
- To gain admission to the whole park as well as winter clothing, purchase a season pass!
Penguins in the Middle East? Is that possible? This appears to be an oxymoron. Evening: Stop by the Souk, which is linked to the Dubai Mall, for supper and drinks. It’s a posh rendition of an Arabian-style souk (market), complete with stores, restaurants, and upscale pubs and lounges.
Day 3: Dubai Top Attractions: The Palm and The Marina
Dubai is a city of extremes, and this is reflected in its architecture. Who had the brilliant idea to BUILD a whole island? If you look at it from above, the island seems to be a palm tree spreading its fronds, with an outside land barrier enclosing the “tree.” It is simply referred to as the Palm by the locals and people. This is a posh neighborhood with magnificent homes, as well as upscale bars and luxurious hotels to choose from. The Atlantis Hotel, which is positioned at the extreme point of the Palm, is undoubtedly the most gorgeous hotel in all of Dubai.
- Tickets are around $150 dollars and include unrestricted access to a range of various cuisines as well as unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- So, have some breakfast, put on your nicest clothing, and get in a taxi to Atlantis Resort and Casino.
- at the Saffron restaurant on the weekends.
- Alternatively, if brunching isn’t your thing, get a ticket to theAtlantis Aquaventure Water Park, a renowned Dubai destination, for a full day admission to one of the world’s top waterparks, the Atlantis Aquaventure Water Park.
- And, if you’re looking for more of a thrill, Skydive Dubai is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
- The cost of a basic package ticket is around 550 US dollars.
- It will provide you with a bird’s eye perspective of the city without any of the dangers.
Day 4: Do the Desert Safari
No one who visits Dubai does so without taking part in a desert safari. Another one of the top ten things to do in Dubai is to go shopping. It also serves to remind visitors that there is a desert out there. The gleaming structures, ice rinks, elegant hotels, and ski slopes can be a distraction from the sand dunes and other natural features. However, the natural beauty of the desert should not be overlooked. Watching the sun set over the desert and watching its peachy light spread from dune to dune is a spectacle that should not be missed at any cost.
- During the late morning hours, you and your company will be picked up by a dune-bashing driver from any hotel of your choosing.
- Dune-bashing is done in a protected vehicle with a knowledgeable driver on board.
- Even though it’s a turbulent ride, it’s really exhilarating and still completely safe!
- Later in the evening, as the sun begins to set, he brings you to the campsite, where there is camel riding, henna tattoo artists, and finally supper with a performance!
It’s a fantastic method to take advantage of the desert lifestyle. The cost of the tickets is around $50. Take a camel ride into the desert on one of Dubai’s desert safaris (Bottom left photo credit-Dave Brown)
Day 5: Dubai Beach + Nightlife
Morning: Keep in mind that Dubai is a beach destination. In the salty wind and the brilliant sunlight, you can sense it. Visitors may enjoy superb beach access through their hotel or another establishment for a modest price in this Arabian city, which boasts extremely beautiful beaches. The beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a fantastic option (taxi drivers will know what you mean). Evening: Spend the day soaking in the sun and even enjoying the inflatable “water park” that has been set up out on the boat.
- With a few exceptions, bars, clubs, and restaurants that provide alcoholic beverages are exclusively found in hotels, with a few notable exceptions.
- The Baristi Bar, located in the Marina of the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi hotel, is one of the greatest places for visitors to hang out.
- Non-stop entertainment and dining are available at this pub and restaurant, as well as concerts, parties, and athletic events held on the premises.
- The Observatory at the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel is yet another excellent location.
- Last but not least, if you enjoy dancing, there are several venues to choose from.
- Movida, located in Downtown Dubai, is a fantastic club with a VIP atmosphere and excellent music.
- The nightlife in Dubai is so diverse that you may find anything from hookah bars to posh nightclubs to Irish pubs to enjoy yourself.
- With this Dubai schedule, you’ll be done and dusted in a total of 5 days, including travel time.
- Forget about Paris, London, and Amsterdam; it’s time to head to Dubai.
Bonus Tips: Getting Around in Dubai
The city’s taxis are inexpensive, so you will have no trouble going from one location to another. Because Dubai is accustomed to tourist traffic, drivers are simple to find and are familiar with the area. However, in addition to cabs, there is also a metro line!
It’s really simple to use and surprisingly inexpensive as well. The traffic in Dubai can be somewhat congested during peak hours, making the metro line an excellent mode of transportation during certain times. Taxis, on the other hand, are the best option if you’re planning on staying out late.
How Many Days Needed to Visit Dubai (and What to do During Your Stay)
In Dubai, there is no shortage of glitz, glamour, luxury, and indulgence. It is home to one of the most stunning cityscapes on the planet, and it is thought that nothing is impossible in this magical city. This appears to be the case given the presence of the world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa, which is 828 meters tall, and a collection of man-made islands depicting ‘The World.’ So, how much time do you think you’ll need to view everything?
Length of Stay
What is the length of a piece of string? It all depends on the situation. There is a vast and varied range of views on the ideal duration of time in Dubai, and as with everything else in life, it truly depends on your interests and your goals for visiting. Some tourists merely come to see the sites, and for them, 3-5 days may be plenty for a quick vacation to the country. During this period, you may visit the most well-known attractions and indulge in delectable cuisine. There are some folks who come to shop.
Other visitors come to unwind; they might easily spend two weeks lying around the pool or on the beach if they so desired.
If you are visiting Dubai for the first time, I recommend that you stay for at least a week.
Then, when you go back home, you can start thinking about your next trip over; you’ll soon realize that there is always more to see and do in the area.
Sightseeing
To get a bird’s eye perspective of Dubai, climb to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure, and look down. Tickets for the observation deck may be purchased, but the loungeAt.Mosphere, which is located on the 122nd level, is a well-kept insider secret. It is required to make a reservation for beverages, however the cocktails are delectable and the experience is on a whole different level of incredibleness. A desert safari is highly suggested for anyone interested in learning more about the history and natural beauty of the area surrounding Dubai.
A typical itinerary includes dune-bashing, a pause to take in the sunset from a distant desert area, a camel ride, a traditional meal, and a belly dance performance.
The songs and fountain show are performed every 30 minutes and change every time, so reserve an outside table at one of the nearby restaurants to catch a glimpse of a couple of these incredible performances in their natural habitat.
Events
Every year, the Dubai Calendar becomes busier as more and more events and artists choose Dubai as a site for their events and tours. Check out What’s On for complete information on activities taking place during your visit. Because Dubai is constantly aiming to be the greatest in the world, the New Year’s Eve fireworks displays are always of the highest quality. Whatever part of Dubai you choose to stay in, you will enjoy fantastic views thanks to the synchronized shows from the Burj Khalifa as well as from the Atlantis and on the Palm Jumeirah.
It is customary for women to go all out with their hats and outfits during the Easter Weekend celebrations. Each night, the Bubble Lounge and the Irish Village are packed with celebrities, and while no one has witnessed a race, everyone has enjoyed themselves.
For the Kids
TheEmirates Park Zoois located just outside of Dubai and is a terrific place to spend the day with your family. Despite its modest size, it is home to an incredible assortment of animals, including zebras, monkeys, and giraffes, whom visitors are encouraged to feed. In addition to elephants, it is the only zoo in the United Arab Emirates to host a sea-lion performance, which is usually a hit with visitors. The Miracle Garden is a one-of-a-kind attraction in the United Arab Emirates. This little bit of heaven, which is only open during the winter months, is truly a miracle.
Every year in the middle of the desert, colors erupt like paint over a canvas, and it’s hard to imagine that anything this amazing can be made.
It is possible to reach the summit of this winter paradise via regular ski lifts.
A luge and slides are available in a play park at the bottom of the hill to keep the little ones entertained.
Shopping
Throughout the year, tourists and locals alike rush to Dubai to indulge in some much-needed retail therapy. The enormous malls’ prolonged operating hours guarantee that shopping is not a stressful or time-consuming experience. In the week, all of the malls are open until at least 10 p.m.; on weekends, they are only open until midnight. The annual Dubai Shopping Festival takes place in February, and it features incredible deals and hundreds of events that take place all across the city. Whether you’re looking for a luxury handbag or the newest electrical device on the market, now is a great time to make a purchase.
Retailing titans such as Bloomingdales, Paris Gallery, and Galleries Lafayette are all represented at the mall, which houses every possible designer retailer.
This is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of scope.
You see, in Dubai, you’ll constantly be in need of more time.

Sachin Kumar
Sachin, who previously lived and worked in Bangalore and Singapore before settling in Dubai, is one of the numerous expats who have joined together over the years to weave the thread of Dubai’s global culture into its fabric. His passion for exploring and photographing urban environments has resulted in him spending countless hours uncovering hidden gems in these cities, including eating in run-down establishments that only cab drivers frequent, discovering underground markets, exploring abandoned buildings, and staying with local families who may or may not be fond of him.
12 things I wish I’d known before I went to Dubai
The tourist boom in Dubai is showing no signs of abating. During the first six months of the year, the city received more than eight million foreign overnight travelers, representing a 10.6 percent rise over the same time in the previous year. If you’re considering a vacation to the United States in the next months, here are some tips I’ve gleaned from my multiple journeys that you should be aware of.
1. There’s life beyond the skyscrapers
If you scrape beyond the surface of Dubai’s opulent wealth, you will discover a fascinating culture that is worth learning about. Were you anticipating something like that? Make your way to the souks that line Dubai Creek, the city’s historic center, where vendors from all over the Middle East gather to sell their products. Turquoise trinkets from Iran, silver jewels from Oman, and dates from Saudi Arabia may all be found here for bargain prices. There’s even a stunning gold souk dedicated to the precious metal — well worth a visit even if you don’t intend to buy anything.
2. The food is fantastic
Dubai’s vibrant culinary industry is one of the many advantages of having such a large expat population: there are several meal options to choose from. Moreover, it is not limited to high-end dining establishments — although there are many of those as well. In the Bur Dubai neighborhood, you may savor Iranian, Filipino, Yemeni, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, and even Afghan cuisines, among others. Frying Pan Food Adventuresprovides a variety of entertaining gastronomy tours. Bur Dubai is home to some of the best Indian street cuisine in the world.
- Is this the world’s most underappreciated foodie destination?
3. You don’t need a burkini
A bikini will do the trick. Despite the fact that the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country, it is not as conservative as you might assume.
Dress in the manner in which you would in Europe: shorts and skirts are acceptable. In addition, there is no requirement to conceal your hair. The use of a burkini is not required. Credit:alamy

- And more.
4. But bring a coverup
Because of all of the air conditioning, the retail centers are freezing. You’ll also want one if you intend to take a guided tour of the Jumeirah Mosque, which is highly recommended.
5. Taxis are cheap
Although the Metro is less expensive, the majority of its stations are in inconvenient places. Instead, take a cab — and remember to tip the driver. What is the most efficient method of avoiding traffic on The Palm? Helicopters. Credit:alamy
6. The Palm is underwhelming
It is less expensive to use the Metro system, however most of the stations are located in inconvenient areas. Instead, take a cab — and be sure to pay the driver well! Getting about on The Palm is the greatest way to avoid traffic. Helicopters. Credit:alamy
7. There is alcohol
And there’s a lot of it. The sale of alcoholic beverages is restricted to hotel restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, which may seem strange at first, but is not in fact the case. From pubs with terrific live music to high-end Champagne bars, there’s a drinking establishment to fit any occasion in the city of London. Consult Time Out Dubai for ideas, or ask your concierge for suggestions. Before getting into a cab or going home, be sure you are not staggeringly intoxicated. This is strongly discouraged and may result in a police investigation being launched.
This isn’t your typical hotel bar.
8. Kissing is a no-no
Avoid smooching in public places since this will draw unwanted attention to yourself and your partner. Nightclubs, hotels, the backs of cabs, and the beach are all examples of where this is true. Several cases of couples getting detained for “having sex” in public locations have been told to us throughout the years. A casual kiss in public might land you in the same kind of problems as a serious infraction.
9. When it’s hot, it’s HOT
In the summer, the temperature is, to put it mildly, absurdly high. When the temperature is above 55 degrees Celsius in the shade, you have around a 60-second window before you transform into a dripping, puce-colored mess. Visit between November and March to enjoy a less humid environment.
10. Stop looking at the skyscrapers
Pavements in Dubai are shaky at best and non-existent at worst, making it difficult to get about. Keep your gaze fixed on the ground, or hire a cab as the locals do, and gawk to your heart’s content!
11. The spas are amazing
Pavements in Dubai are at best shaky, and at worst they are nonexistent. Keep your gaze fixed on the ground, or hire a cab as the locals do, and gawk till your heart’s content.
12. Malls are actually quite fun
Pay little attention to the folks who smell the beautiful malls in Dubai. Sure, they aren’t “culturally enriching,” but they are tremendously entertaining. In one of these sparkling temples of capitalism, you might easily lose track of time. Aquariums, ski slopes, ice rinks, movies, and other attractions are all available. A complete ‘district’ (district!) dedicated to shoes can be found at the Dubai Mall, which is the most impressive of the bunch.

Taxis are numerous and inexpensive, and the city has an outstanding public transportation system. Alternatively, you may ride a public bus, which has excellent air conditioning and runs all around the city (there are over 1,500 of them).

In addition to morning and evening safaris, with traditional sunset meal options and the possibility to try sand surfing or driving an off-road dunes buggy, there are a plethora of desert activities available.
It is a definite must during your three-day stay in Dubai!
Visit the Dubai Mall – the world’s largest shopping mall
Dubai Mall, with its more than 1 million square metres (or around 200 football fields) of space, over 1,200 retail stores, hundreds of restaurant and beverage options, an aquarium, an Olympic-sized ice rink, and the Kidzania theme park, really caters to all of your shopping and entertainment needs. According to expectations, shopping in Dubai is a popular pastime.
The shops vary from high street fashion to haute couture, with plenty of options to get your gold fix in the Gold Souk, which is located in Deira. In addition, the Dubai Mall is conveniently placed near to the Burj Khalifa, making navigating simple.
Experience The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo
TheDubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoois located within the Dubai Mall, and it is open to the public. More than 33,000 aquatic creatures from 140 species live there, including one of the world’s largest collections of tiger sharks, which is found nowhere else on the planet. It’s a terrific spot to get away from the heat, and it’s one of the best things to do in Dubai for families.
Visit IMG Worlds of Adventures – the world’s largest indoor theme park
In addition to being the world’s biggest indoor theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventures has plenty to offer children of all ages. There are other adventure zones, including ones dedicated to the Cartoon Network, Lost Valley, and Marvel! Among the rides, our favorite was the Hulk Epsilon Base 3D, where you can strap yourself into a motion seat and watch the Hulk fight against his fiercest nemesis in a truly immersive 3D experience thanks to the “stereoscopic cinema dome.” As you might expect, there are height restrictions on the rides; however, there are plenty of rides available for the younger customer, with many rides available for those who are at least 1.05m tall, and a number of rides that have no height restriction at all.
- There are also a number of rides that are suitable for people of all ages.
- Dubai provides a plethora of options!
- Skip the line tickets are available for theDubai Adventure Waterpark and theWild Wadi Waterparks, allowing you to get in and out of the water as soon as possible.
- Skiing in the middle of the desert is possible at the Mall of the Emirates, which is located in Dubai.
Shop In the souks of “Old Dubai”
Take the time to travel north over Dubai Creek to Deira, sometimes known as “Old Dubai,” if you are looking for something a little more traditional or “genuine.” Deira is the ideal location to immerse yourself in a history that predates the current rise of Dubai, though one might argue that Deira’s spice souk, textile souk, and gold souk were only forerunners to the incredible malls that now adorn the city.
For many tourists to Dubai, the gold souk is a must-see attraction. In addition to offering competitive pricing (with the price per gram being determined twice a day), it also has around 10 tonnes of gold accessible at any given moment, so you’ll be hard-pressed to leave without finding what you’re looking for.
Take A Cruise On Dubai Creek
A classic dhow cruise should be included as part of your Dubai vacation itinerary. Dhow cruises are offered both during the day and at night, and some even include a buffet meal at sunset, letting you to enjoy the best of both worlds: panoramic skyline views during the day and at night.
For those who need to reach to their gold-buying destination quickly, an anabra — a tiny motorised water taxi – is the ideal mode of transportation across Dubai Creek.
Try Traditional Arabic Sweets At Habiba Al Nabulsi
Please don’t be deceived by the shabby exterior – theHabiba al Nabulsirestaurant in Deira is not well-known for salads or meats, but rather for its wonderful Arabic sweets and deserts that will please even the most discerning sweet tooth! Must-try desserts include the exquisite kunafa with kashta, which is a sort of filo pastry and cream delicacy that is drizzled with orange blossom syrup.
Swim At One Of The Many Beaches
With a variety of public and private beach access options, Dubai is blessed with a plethora of stunning beaches. There is no better public family-friendly beach in Dubai than JBR Beach and the Dubai Marina regions. The beaches include golden sand and calm waves, cabanas for hire, and there is a playground for children. Kite Beach is a must-visit for sports enthusiasts, since it provides kite surfing, beach football, tennis, and volleyball, among other activities. The exclusive Palm Jumeirah neighborhood is the place to go if you want a more luxurious experience.

Take A Walking Tour Through The Historic Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood
It is the greatest area to view what Dubai used to look like before all of the skyscrapers were built. A visit to Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is the best way to do so. The neighborhood, which dates back to the early 1900s, is one of the city’s oldest historical areas. An organized walking tour is the most effective method to view the attractions and traverse the narrow streets of the city. While you’re in the region, pay a visit to the Sheik Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU), which exhibits the culture and traditions of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Where To Eat in Dubai
Dubai is one of the greatest cities in the world to dine, offering a diverse range of cuisines from all over the world to its visitors. Here are our best selections for those with a high, medium, and low-end spending budgets, respectively. Top end: On the north side of Dubai Creek, you’ll find some of the greatest gastronomic experiences the city has to offer. Miyako has continuously been one of the area’s most popular restaurants, thanks to its wonderful Japanese menu. The restaurant is divided into three sections, each of which has a teppanyaki room, a sushi bar, and a tatami area.

Dubai stopover suggestions –overview
- Layover in Dubai for 6-12 hours
- One-day stopover in Dubai
- Two-day stopover in Dubai
- Where to stay during a layover in Dubai
Short layover in Dubai – see the best in just a few hours
For those of you who have at least 6 hours to spare during a layover in Dubai and want to make the most of your time, I have two recommendations based on our personal experience and the locations we considered to be the most worthwhile to visit in the city. Just bear in mind that immigration might take a lengthy time in Dubai, so plan ahead of time!
OPTION 1: Visit Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa
The Dubai Mall is one of the greatest places to visit in Dubai if you just have a limited amount of time to see everything. If you arrive by plane, you may take a cab or the metro to your destination – further information on public transportation in Dubai can be found here. A private airport shuttle, on the other hand, might save you both time and money if you schedule it in advance. Neither alternative is too expensive, but the metro, particularly during rush hour, may be the fastest option.
It is possible that booking a private transfer will be the least stressful choice.
Dubai Fountains
Try to witness the (free) music and light performance at the Dubai Fountains. Showtimes: 1 PM and 1:30 PM daily, except for major holidays (except Fridays). between 1:30 and 2 p.m. (Fridays only). Evening performances are broadcast everyday between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., every half hour. The show itself is completely free, but you may also choose to take a traditional boat trip on Burj Lake in addition to it.
Due to the fact that it is one of the most popular tourist sites in Dubai, it is necessary to get your tickets in advance. Tickets for the Burj Lake Ride by Traditional Boat may be purchased right here.
Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure, is equally breathtaking from the ground level as it is from the pinnacle of the edifice. If you have the opportunity, I recommend that you climb to the observation deck for spectacular views over Dubai. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. The At the Top event is extremely popular and frequently sold out, so if you want to participate, you should get your Burj Khalifa tickets well in advance. View of the Dubai Fountain Show from the top of the Burj Khalifa.
Dubai Aquarium
The Dubai Aquarium is housed within the Dubai Mall complex. From the mall itself, you can view the large aquarium that is on display (no need to purchase a ticket). In the event that you decide to pay a visit to the aquarium itself, plan on spending at least an hour there. It is recommended that you buy your tickets in advance for Dubai Aquarium, just as you would for most other sites in Dubai. The ticket wait at Dubai Aquarium can get exceptionally long at certain times of the day. Furthermore, if you book in advance, the price is less expensive.
TIP: If you want to visit many sites, purchasing a combination ticket is frequently the most cost-effective option.
Dubai Aquarium is a marine aquarium located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dubai Mall
Dubai Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in the world, with over 100 stores. Even if you were to spend a week there, you would not see all. After seeing the fountains, the Burj Khalifa, and the Dubai Aquarium, you may want to go shopping or tour the rest of the city, depending on how long your Dubai layover is and how much time you have left after seeing them. The spectacular waterfall located within the mall should not be missed. An ice rink, dinosaur museum, cinemas, a kids’ playground called KidZania, games and attractions from SEGA Republic, and the Emirates A380 Experience are just a few of the attractions.
OPTION 2: Join an organized Dubai layover sightseeing tour
If you have a stopover in Dubai between 5 and 9 hours, booking this highly-rated private Dubai layover sightseeing tour is definitely the finest thing you can do. This customized trip with airport transfers takes you to some of Dubai’s most iconic attractions, including the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al-Arab hotel. It also includes a ticket to the Burj Khalifa, which is already included. You won’t have to worry about any practical matters since your guide will pick you up from the airport and take you on a tour of the finest of the Emirate in a short period of time, saving you time and money.
One thing to keep in mind: the trip concludes in the Dubai Mall, where you may take part in the Burj Khalifa experience, so you’ll have to arrange your own transportation back to the airport.
This trip will pick you up and leave you off at Dubai International Airport, as well as take you to some of the most renowned destinations in the country.
Needless to say, you won’t have much time to see any of the sites, but it’s a nice opportunity to get a feel for the city and a better option than spending half a day at the airport. The Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach are two of the most famous attractions in Dubai.
One full day stopover in Dubai
In order to maximize your time in Dubai, you should plan to spend at least one night or one full day there. You may combine your visit to the Dubai Mall with a brief tour of the city. Every single one of the top things to do in and around the Dubai Mall has previously been covered in detail. A half-day is sufficient time to see the main attractions. In addition to that, I recommend taking advantage of one of the short excursions that will show you a little more of Dubai in a short amount of time.
Take a look at this!
Best half-day tours for your Dubai stopover
On your Dubai stopover, you should take advantage of some of the greatest short tours the city has to offer:
- Dubai’s past and future are intertwined. You will see some of Dubai’s most renowned attractions, such as the Blue Mosque, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis the Palm, and the water taxi on Dubai Creek. You will also visit the famed traditional marketplaces of the Spice Souq and Deira Gold Souq. A visit to the Dubai Frame, a new icon in the city, is also included in the itinerary.
- Dubai Marina is a waterfront development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Several businesses provide Marina dinner cruises with traditional Tanouri dance performances, and they are all essentially the same in terms of quality and service. We chose the Alexandra Dhow Cruise since it was the greatest value-for-money trip available, especially for families with children, and we were not disappointed. If you’re looking for something a little less ‘conventional,’ this sunset dinner cruise has received rave reviews. Even if you don’t go on the cruise, you should visit Dubai Marina, which is a must. The atmosphere is especially active in the evenings.
- The Dubai Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour allows you to view the city’s greatest sites at your own speed, while also saving money. If you have a whole day to spare on your Dubai layover, this is a fantastic alternative. This is the most highly recommended hop-on hop-off tour in Dubai.
- It is possible to tour the biggest sights in Dubai at your own leisure thanks to the Dubai Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour. If you have a whole day to spare during your Dubai layover, this is a fantastic alternative for you! Located in the heart of Dubai, this is the most popular hop-on hop-off tour.
The Dubai Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour allows you to view the city’s greatest sites at your own speed, while also saving you money. If you have a whole day to spare on your Dubai stopover, this is a fantastic alternative. This is the best-rated hop-on hop-off tour in Dubai; it is also the most affordable.
Two-day Dubai stopover
In the event that you have two days on your Dubai layover, you should spend one of those days viewing the finest of the city’s attractions, which are listed above. I propose that you spend your second day participating in one of the activities listed below, which will help to make your brief vacation to Dubai even more memorable. Take a look at this!
Spend a day at the water park in Dubai
Atlantis Aquaventure Water Park and Wild Wadi Water Park are two of Dubai’s most popular water parks, according to the Dubai Tourism Board. Because we just went to Aquaventure at Atlantis, I can’t compare the two, but it was fantastic all the way around. TIP: If you reserve your tickets for the Dubai water parks in advance, you will save a significant amount of money (20-40 percent).
Take a day tour to Abu Dhabi
If you would prefer to go sightseeing rather than dune bashing or swimming, and you want to make the most of your brief layover in Dubai, you might want to take this highly-rated full-day excursion to Abu Dhabi. It’s an excellent method to explore the most of Abu Dhabi in a short amount of time.
Go on a Dubai desert safari
There are a plethora of firms that conduct desert trips in Dubai. Here are two of the most attractive alternatives I could find. We combined the first one with the previously stated city trip to make a full day of it. Dubai Desert Safari is 1.444 miles long. This 4- to 7-hour trip provides a brief introduction to everything Emirati, including dune bashing, sandboarding, camel riding (for no more than 5 minutes), and a BBQ dinner. 2.Sunset Camel Trek with ShowsBBQ in the evening. This trip is a little longer and a little more opulent than the last one.

Where to stay on your Dubai stopover
As soon as you realize that a layover in Dubai is well worth it and that you will not be bored in the city, you will need a place to stay for one or two nights. Please see below a small selection of Dubai hotels that are conveniently positioned for a brief stopover in Dubai.TIP: I strongly advise you to remain in Dubai for at least one night rather than just passing through on a short Dubai layover. If you are visiting Dubai for a longer period of time, I would recommend staying in the neighborhood known as the Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Although staying close to the airport or close to the Dubai Mall is preferable for a short stopover in Dubai, staying in either of these locations is preferable because the Dubai Mall is one part of the city that you don’t want to miss out on during your stay.TIP: While staying close to the airport is less expensive than staying in the center, staying close to the Dubai Mall gives you more flexibility and time to explore.
Good price-quality hotels at Dubai Airport:
- Following your discovery that a layover in Dubai is well worth it and that you will not be bored in the city, you will require accommodation for one or two nights. A limited selection of Dubai hotels that are conveniently positioned for a quick stopover in Dubai are listed below
- Nevertheless, I strongly advise you to remain in Dubai for at least one night instead of simply passing through on your way to or from another destination. If you are visiting Dubai for a longer period of time, I would recommend staying in the neighborhood known as the Jumeirah Beach Residence. Immigration may be chaotic, and it will be especially difficult if you just have a few hours between flights. If you’re only staying for a night or two, you’ll probably want to stay near the airport or close to the Dubai Mall, as this is one part of the city you don’t want to miss out on during a brief stopover in Dubai.TIP: While staying near the airport is less expensive than staying in the center of the city, staying close to the Dubai Mall gives you more flexibility and allows you to spend more time exploring the area.
Good price-quality hotels close to Dubai Mall:
- Sofitel Dubai Downtown (conveniently located near the Dubai Mall metro station)
- Steigenberger Hotel – Business Bay
- Sofitel Dubai Downtown (conveniently located near the Dubai Mall metro station).
Luxury hotels close to Dubai Mall:
- It is possible to book rooms with views of the Burj Khalifa as well as the Dubai Fountain at the Palace Downtown Dubai. The location is the Dubai Mall Hotel (rooms with views of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain are available)
- The address is The Armani Hotel Dubai (located within the Burj Khalifa structure and offering spectacular views of the Dubai fountain)
As a result, here is our guidance to a brief layover in Dubai. I hope you were able to get some inspiration for the greatest activities to do during a stopover or a brief layover in Dubai. There is simply so much to see and do in the city that it is impossible to recommend a single layover plan that is suitable for everyone. Any of the possibilities listed above, however, will be a fantastic decision for your Dubai layover, in my opinion. Take pleasure in your journey!
