Plan a Amazing 5 Day Dubai Itinerary – Klook Travel BlogKlook Travel

If you are interested in creating a Dubai itinerary, a stay of approximately 5 days is the optimal amount of time to take advantage of everything this illustrious Middle Eastern gem has to offer in terms of tourism. From luxury to elegance to architecture, it has it everything, including the Burj Khalifa, which is the world’s tallest structure at 2,716 meters. It’s no surprise that tourism in this city is soaring to dizzying heights and is expected to continue to grow at an exponential rate in the coming years.

The activities available vary from gourmet dining to dune bashing, sky diving to skiing, kayaking to nightclubbing and everything in between.

Let’s start at the very beginning of the story.

Day 1: The Burj Khalifa

In order to get the most out of a visit to Dubai, a stay of around 5 days is the optimal length of time to soak up as much as possible of this renowned Middle Eastern jewel. This city, which includes the Burj Khalifa, is known for everything from its luxury to its flair to its architecture. The fact that tourism in this city is exploding and is likely to continue to rise at an exponential rate in the coming years is no coincidence. However, because tourism in this metropolis is still in its infancy, travelers from all over the world are unsure of what to do in the United Arab Emirates.

Each and every person will find something they enjoy.

Day 2: Dubai Mall Day

Yes, you are correct. It should come as no surprise that Dubai is home to the world’s largest mall. The Dubai Mall contains approximately 1,200 shops ranging from Zara to the Hershey Store, as well as excellent restaurants, a massive aquarium, an ice rink, and an indoor skiing resort known as Ski Dubai. The Dubai Mall is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Isn’t that crazy? The fact that there is so much to do and see makes this a fantastic way to spend the day. This shopping experience in Dubai is unlike anything else you’ve had before.

  1. The Dubai Mall Fountain, which is a popular tourist attraction in Dubai, would be an excellent location to enjoy a meal.
  2. Afternoon: The Dubai Aquarium, located in the middle of the mall, is only faintly visible from the outside, but visitors may get entry to all floors by purchasing a ticket.
  3. Ski Dubai is a fantastic destination for ski enthusiasts.
  4. To gain access to the entire park as well as winter clothing, purchase a season pass!

Penguins in the Middle East? Is that possible? This appears to be an oxymoron. Evening: Stop by the Souk, which is linked to the Dubai Mall, for supper and drinks. It’s a swanky version of an Arabian-style souk (market), complete with shops, restaurants, and upscale bars and lounges.

Day 3: Dubai Top Attractions: The Palm and The Marina

Yes, you are correct. It should come as no surprise that Dubai boasts the largest mall in the world. The Dubai Mall contains approximately 1,200 shops ranging from Zara to the Hershey Store, as well as excellent restaurants, a massive aquarium, an ice rink, and an indoor skiing resort known as Ski Dubai. The Dubai Mall is located in the heart of the city. Yes, that is absurd. The fact that there is so much to do and see makes it a fantastic way to spend the day. This shopping experience in Dubai is unlike anything else you’ve ever had before or afterwards.

  • The Dubai Mall Fountain, which is a popular tourist attraction in Dubai, would be an excellent location to have a dinner.
  • Following lunch, the Dubai Aquarium, located in the middle of the mall, is visible from the outside, but those who purchase a ticket will have access to all floors.
  • If you enjoy skiing, Ski Dubai is a fantastic destination.
  • To gain access to the whole park as well as winter gear, purchase a pass now!
  • The Middle East and penguins, who knew?
  • Abend: Visit the Souk, which is located next to the Dubai Mall, for supper and drinks.

Day 4: Do the Desert Safari

No one who visits Dubai does so without taking part in a desert safari. Another one of the top ten things to do in Dubai is to go shopping. It also serves to remind visitors that there is a desert out there. The gleaming structures, ice rinks, elegant hotels, and ski slopes can be a distraction from the sand dunes and other natural features. However, the natural beauty of the desert should not be overlooked. Watching the sun set over the desert and watching its peachy light spread from dune to dune is a spectacle that should not be missed at any cost.

  1. During the late morning hours, you and your company will be picked up by a dune-bashing driver from any hotel of your choosing.
  2. Dune-bashing is done in a protected vehicle with a knowledgeable driver on board.
  3. Even though it’s a turbulent ride, it’s really exhilarating and still completely safe!
  4. Later in the evening, as the sun begins to set, he brings you to the campsite, where there is camel riding, henna tattoo artists, and finally supper with a performance!

It’s a fantastic method to take advantage of the desert lifestyle. The cost of the tickets is around $50. Take a camel ride into the desert on one of Dubai’s desert safaris (Bottom left photo credit-Dave Brown)

Day 5: Dubai Beach + Nightlife

Morning: Keep in mind that Dubai is a beach destination. In the salty breeze and the bright sunlight, you can sense it. Visitors can enjoy quality beach access through their hotel or another establishment for a small fee in this Arabian city, which boasts absolutely beautiful beaches. The beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a fantastic option (taxi drivers will know what you mean). Evening: Spend the day soaking in the sun and even enjoying the inflatable “water park” that has been set up out on the boat.

  1. With a few exceptions, bars, clubs, and restaurants that provide alcoholic beverages are exclusively found in hotels, with a few notable exceptions.
  2. The Baristi Bar, located in the Marina of the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi hotel, is one of the greatest places for visitors to hang out.
  3. Non-stop entertainment and dining are available at this pub and restaurant, as well as concerts, parties, and athletic events held on the premises.
  4. The Observatory at the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel is yet another excellent location.
  5. Last but not least, if you enjoy dancing, there are several venues to choose from.
  6. Movida, located in Downtown Dubai, is a fantastic club with a VIP atmosphere and excellent music.
  7. The nightlife in Dubai is so diverse that you may find anything from hookah bars to posh nightclubs to Irish pubs to enjoy yourself.
  8. With this Dubai itinerary, you’ll be done and dusted in a total of 5 days, including travel time.
  9. Forget about Paris, London, and Amsterdam; it’s time to head to Dubai.

Bonus Tips: Getting Around in Dubai

The city’s taxis are inexpensive, so you will have no trouble getting from one location to another. Because Dubai is accustomed to tourist traffic, drivers are easy to find and are familiar with the area. However, in addition to taxis, there is also a metro line!

It’s really simple to use and surprisingly inexpensive as well. The traffic in Dubai can be quite congested during peak hours, making the metro line an excellent mode of transportation during those times. Taxis, on the other hand, are the best option if you’re planning on staying out late.

How Many Days Needed to Visit Dubai (and What to do During Your Stay)

In Dubai, there is no shortage of glitz, glamour, luxury, and indulgence. It is home to one of the most stunning cityscapes on the planet, and it is thought that nothing is impossible in this magical city. This appears to be the case given the presence of the world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa, which is 828 meters tall, and a collection of man-made islands depicting ‘The World.’ So, how much time do you think you’ll need to view everything?

Length of Stay

What is the length of a piece of string? It all depends on the situation. There is a vast and varied range of views on the ideal duration of time in Dubai, and as with everything else in life, it truly depends on your interests and your goals for visiting. Some people only come to see the sights, and for them, 3-5 days may be sufficient for a quick visit to the country. During this period, you may visit the most well-known attractions and indulge in delectable cuisine. There are some people who come to shop.

Other visitors come to unwind; they might easily spend two weeks lying around the pool or on the beach if they so desired.

If you are visiting Dubai for the first time, I recommend that you stay for at least a week.

Then, when you go back home, you can start thinking about your next trip over; you’ll soon realize that there is always more to see and do in the area.

Sightseeing

To get a bird’s eye perspective of Dubai, climb to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure, and look down. Tickets for the observation deck may be purchased, but the loungeAt.Mosphere, which is located on the 122nd level, is a well-kept insider secret. It is required to make a reservation for beverages, however the cocktails are delectable and the experience is on a whole different level of incredibleness. A desert safari is highly recommended for those interested in learning more about the history and natural beauty of the area surrounding Dubai.

A typical itinerary includes dune-bashing, a stop to take in the sunset from a remote desert location, a camel ride, a traditional dinner, and a belly dancing performance.

The songs and fountain show are performed every 30 minutes and change every time, so reserve an outside table at one of the nearby restaurants to catch a glimpse of a couple of these incredible performances in their natural habitat.

Events

Every year, the Dubai Calendar becomes busier as more and more events and artists choose Dubai as a destination for their events and tours. Check out What’s On for complete information on activities taking place during your visit. Because Dubai is constantly aiming to be the greatest in the world, the New Year’s Eve fireworks displays are always of the highest quality. Whatever part of Dubai you choose to stay in, you will enjoy fantastic views thanks to the synchronized shows from the Burj Khalifa as well as from the Atlantis and on the Palm Jumeirah.

It is customary for women to go all out with their hats and dresses during the Easter Weekend celebrations. Each night, the Bubble Lounge and the Irish Village are packed with celebrities, and while no one has witnessed a race, everyone has enjoyed themselves.

For the Kids

TheEmirates Park Zoois located just outside of Dubai and is a terrific place to spend the day with your family. Despite its small size, it is home to an incredible collection of animals, including zebras, monkeys, and giraffes, which visitors are encouraged to feed. In addition to elephants, it is the only zoo in the United Arab Emirates to host a sea-lion performance, which is usually a hit with visitors. The Miracle Garden is a one-of-a-kind attraction in the United Arab Emirates. This little bit of heaven, which is only open during the winter months, is truly a miracle.

Every year in the middle of the desert, colors erupt like paint over a canvas, and it’s hard to imagine that anything this amazing can be made.

It is possible to reach the summit of this winter wonderland using traditional ski lifts.

A luge and slides are available in a play park at the bottom of the hill to keep the little ones entertained.

Shopping

Throughout the year, tourists and locals alike rush to Dubai to indulge in some much-needed retail therapy. In addition to prolonged opening hours, the large malls guarantee that shopping is not a hurried event. All of the malls remain open until at least 10pm on weekdays and only close at midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Dubai Shopping Festival takes place every February, and this year’s edition features hundreds of competitions and amazing deals all over the city. Whether you’re looking for a handbag from a top designer or the latest electronic gadget on the market, now is the time to buy.TheDubai Mallis the largest shopping mall in the world, and it’s still growing.

The list of activities to see and do in Dubai is endless, ranging from relaxing spa treatments to great golf courses to athletic events such as the Dubai Rugby 7s and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

12 things I wish I’d known before I went to Dubai

The tourist boom in Dubai is showing no signs of abating. During the first six months of the year, the city received more than eight million foreign overnight travelers, representing a 10.6 percent rise over the same time in the previous year.

If you’re considering a vacation to the United States in the next months, here are some tips I’ve gleaned from my multiple journeys that you should be aware of.

1. There’s life beyond the skyscrapers

If you scrape beyond the surface of Dubai’s opulent wealth, you will discover a fascinating culture that is worth learning about. Were you anticipating something like that? Make your way to the souks that line Dubai Creek, the city’s historic center, where vendors from all over the Middle East gather to sell their products. Turquoise trinkets from Iran, silver jewels from Oman, and dates from Saudi Arabia may all be found here for bargain prices. There’s even a stunning gold souk dedicated to the precious metal — well worth a visit even if you don’t intend to buy anything.

2. The food is fantastic

Dubai’s vibrant culinary industry is one of the many advantages of having such a large expat population: there are several meal options to choose from. Moreover, it is not limited to high-end dining establishments — although there are many of those as well. In the Bur Dubai neighborhood, you may savor Iranian, Filipino, Yemeni, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, and even Afghan cuisines, among others. Frying Pan Food Adventuresprovides a variety of entertaining gastronomy tours. Bur Dubai is home to some of the best Indian street cuisine in the world.

  • Is this the world’s most underappreciated foodie destination?

3. You don’t need a burkini

A bikini will do the trick. Despite the fact that the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country, it is not as conservative as you might assume. Dress in the manner in which you would in Europe: shorts and skirts are acceptable. In addition, there is no requirement to conceal your hair. The use of a burkini is not required. Credit:alamy

4. But bring a coverup

Because of all of the air conditioning, the retail centers are freezing. You’ll also want one if you intend to take a guided tour of the Jumeirah Mosque, which is highly recommended.

5. Taxis are cheap

Although the Metro is less expensive, the majority of its stations are in inconvenient places. Instead, take a cab — and remember to tip the driver. What is the most efficient method of avoiding traffic on The Palm? Helicopters. Credit:alamy

6. The Palm is underwhelming

Take note, urban planners: a palm tree does not make an appropriate shape for an island. What a nightmare the traffic is! Those residing on the fronds will have to travel an additional half-hour in order to reach to Dubai Marina or Downtown – otherwise known as Dubai’s party spots.

7. There is alcohol

And there’s a lot of it. The sale of alcoholic beverages is restricted to hotel restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, which may seem strange at first, but is not in fact the case. From pubs with great live music to high-end Champagne bars, there’s a drinking establishment to suit every occasion in the city of London. For ideas, visit Time Out Dubai or your concierge. When taking a cab or walking home, make sure you aren’t staggeringly inebriated. This is strongly discouraged and may result in a police investigation being launched.

This isn’t your typical hotel bar.Photo courtesy of Alamy / Madinat Jumeirah Al Qasr

8. Kissing is a no-no

Avoid smooching in public places since this will draw unwanted attention to yourself and your partner. Nightclubs, hotels, the backs of cabs, and the beach are all examples of where this is true.

Several cases of couples getting detained for “having sex” in public locations have been told to us throughout the years. A casual kiss in public might land you in the same kind of problems as a serious infraction.

9. When it’s hot, it’s HOT

In the summer, the temperature is, to put it mildly, absurdly high. When the temperature is above 55 degrees Celsius in the shade, you have roughly a 60-second window before you turn into a dripping, puce-colored mess. Visit between November and March to enjoy a less humid environment.

10. Stop looking at the skyscrapers

It is, to put it mildly, absurd how hot it gets in July. It just takes 60 seconds to develop into a dripping, puce-colored mess when the temperature is over 55 degrees Celsius in the shade. Visitors should visit between November and March to avoid the heat.

11. The spas are amazing

Even the most discriminating spa connoisseur will find something to rave about in Dubai – and for those who aren’t used to luxury spas, nothing will compare to what they’ll find in the city.Avoid the beauty clinics you’ll find in the malls (although they do a good mani-pedi), and instead head to the luxury hotels – they’re expensive but well worth it.The Jumeriah Zabeel Saray and The Palace Downtown Dubai are particularly good, and

12. Malls are actually quite fun

Pay little attention to the folks who smell the beautiful malls in Dubai. Sure, they aren’t “culturally enriching,” but they are tremendously entertaining. In one of these glittering temples of capitalism, you can easily lose track of time. Aquariums, ski slopes, ice rinks, cinemas, and other attractions are all available. A whole ‘district’ (district!) dedicated to shoes can be found in the Dubai Mall, which is the most impressive of the bunch.

Short layover in Dubai – see the best in just a few hours

For those of you who have at least 6 hours to spare during a layover in Dubai and want to make the most of your time, I have two recommendations based on our personal experience and the locations we considered to be the most worthwhile to visit in the city. Just bear in mind that immigration might take a lengthy time in Dubai, so plan ahead of time!

OPTION 1: Visit Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa

The Dubai Mall is one of the greatest places to visit in Dubai if you just have a limited amount of time to see everything. If you arrive by plane, you may take a cab or the metro to your destination – further information on public transportation in Dubai can be found here. A private airport shuttle, on the other hand, might save you both time and money if you schedule it in advance. Neither alternative is too expensive, but the metro, particularly during rush hour, may be the fastest option.

It is possible that booking a private transfer will be the least stressful choice. Here’s what you can see and do at the Dubai Mall if you’re just in town for a short period of time:

Dubai Fountains

Try to witness the (free) music and light performance at the Dubai Fountains. Showtimes: 1 PM and 1:30 PM daily, except on major holidays (except Fridays). between 1:30 and 2 p.m. (Fridays only). Evening performances are broadcast everyday between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., every half hour. The show itself is completely free, but you may also choose to take a traditional boat trip on Burj Lake in addition to it. Due to the fact that it is one of the most popular tourist sites in Dubai, it is necessary to get your tickets in advance.

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure, is equally breathtaking from the ground level as it is from the pinnacle of the edifice. If you have the opportunity, I recommend that you climb to the observation deck for spectacular views of Dubai. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. The At the Top experience is extremely popular and frequently sold out, so if you want to participate, you should purchase your Burj Khalifa tickets well in advance. View of the Dubai Fountain Show from the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Dubai Aquarium

The Dubai Aquarium is housed within the Dubai Mall complex. From the mall itself, you can view the large aquarium that is on display (no need to purchase a ticket). In the event that you decide to pay a visit to the aquarium itself, plan on spending at least an hour there. It is recommended that you buy your tickets in advance for Dubai Aquarium, just as you would for most other sites in Dubai. The ticket wait at Dubai Aquarium can get exceptionally long at certain times of the day. Furthermore, if you book in advance, the price is less expensive.

TIP: If you intend to visit multiple attractions, purchasing a combination ticket is often the most cost-effective option.

Dubai Aquarium is a marine aquarium located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in the world, with over 100 stores. Even if you were to spend a week there, you would not see all. After seeing the fountains, the Burj Khalifa, and the Dubai Aquarium, you may want to go shopping or tour the rest of the city, depending on how long your Dubai layover is and how much time you have left after seeing them. The spectacular waterfall located within the mall should not be missed. An ice rink, dinosaur museum, cinemas, a kids’ playground called KidZania, games and attractions from SEGA Republic, and the Emirates A380 Experience are just a few of the attractions.

OPTION 2: Join an organized Dubai layover sightseeing tour

If you have a stopover in Dubai between 5 and 9 hours, booking this highly-rated private Dubai layover sightseeing tour is definitely the finest thing you can do. This private tour with airport transfers takes you to some of Dubai’s most famous attractions, including the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al-Arab hotel. It also includes a ticket to the Burj Khalifa, which is already included. You won’t have to worry about any practical details because your guide will pick you up at the airport and take you on a tour of the best of the Emirate in a short period of time, saving you time and money.

One thing to keep in mind: the tour concludes at the Dubai Mall, where you can take part in the Burj Khalifa experience, so you’ll have to arrange your own transportation back to the airport.

This tour will pick you up and drop you off at Dubai International Airport, as well as take you to some of the most iconic places in the country.

Needless to say, you won’t have much time to see any of the sites, but it’s a nice opportunity to get a feel for the city and a better option than spending half a day at the airport. The Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach are two of the most famous attractions in Dubai.

One full day stopover in Dubai

In order to maximize your time in Dubai, you should plan to spend at least one night or one full day there. You can combine your visit to the Dubai Mall with a short tour of the city. Every single one of the top things to do in and around the Dubai Mall has previously been covered in detail. A half-day is sufficient time to see the main attractions. In addition to that, I recommend taking advantage of one of the short excursions that will show you a little more of Dubai in a short amount of time.

Take a look at this!

Best half-day tours for your Dubai stopover

On your Dubai stopover, you should take advantage of some of the greatest short tours the city has to offer:

  • Dubai’s past and future are intertwined. You will visit some of Dubai’s most famous landmarks, such as the Blue Mosque, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis the Palm, and the water taxi on Dubai Creek. You will also visit the famous traditional markets of the Spice Souq and Deira Gold Souq. A visit to the Dubai Frame, a new landmark in the city, is also included in the itinerary.
  • Dubai Marina is a waterfront development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Several businesses provide Marina dinner cruises with traditional Tanouri dance performances, and they are all essentially the same in terms of quality and service. We chose the Alexandra Dhow Cruise since it was the greatest value-for-money trip available, especially for families with children, and we were not disappointed. If you’re looking for something a little less ‘conventional,’ this sunset dinner cruise has received rave reviews. Even if you don’t go on the cruise, you should visit Dubai Marina, which is a must. The atmosphere is especially active in the evenings.
  • The Dubai Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour allows you to view the city’s greatest sites at your own speed, while also saving money. If you have a whole day to spare on your Dubai layover, this is a fantastic alternative. This is the most highly recommended hop-on hop-off tour in Dubai.
  • Tour through the desert in the morning. In case you just have a morning in Dubai and want to see the desert, theSunrise Camel Trek with Breakfast is a fantastic alternative.

Two-day Dubai stopover

In the event that you have two days on your Dubai stopover, you should spend one of those days visiting the best of the city’s attractions, which are listed above. I propose that you spend your second day participating in one of the activities listed below, which will help to make your brief vacation to Dubai even more memorable. Take a look at this!

Spend a day at the water park in Dubai

Atlantis Aquaventure Water Park and Wild Wadi Water Park are two of Dubai’s most popular water parks, according to the Dubai Tourism Board. Because we just went to Aquaventure at Atlantis, I can’t compare the two, but it was fantastic all the way around. TIP: If you reserve your tickets for the Dubai water parks in advance, you will save a significant amount of money (20-40 percent).

Take a day tour to Abu Dhabi

If you would prefer to go sightseeing rather than dune bashing or swimming, and you want to make the most of your brief layover in Dubai, you might want to take this highly-rated full-day excursion to Abu Dhabi. It’s an excellent method to explore the most of Abu Dhabi in a short amount of time.

Go on a Dubai desert safari

There are a plethora of firms that conduct desert trips in Dubai. Here are two of the most attractive alternatives I could find. We combined the first one with the previously stated city trip to make a full day of it. Dubai Desert Safari is 1.444 miles long. This 4- to 7-hour trip provides a brief introduction to everything Emirati, including dune bashing, sandboarding, camel riding (for no more than 5 minutes), and a BBQ dinner. 2.Sunset Camel Trek with ShowsBBQ in the evening. This trip is a little longer and a little more opulent than the last one.

Where to stay on your Dubai stopover

As soon as you realize that a layover in Dubai is well worth it and that you will not be bored in the city, you will need a place to stay for one or two nights. The hotels listed below are a tiny selection of those in Dubai that are conveniently positioned for a brief visit in the city. TIP: I strongly advise you to spend at least one night in Dubai rather than merely passing through on your way to another destination. Because of the high volume of people passing through immigration, it will be quite stressful if you just have a few of hours between flights.

While staying near the airport or the Dubai Mall is preferable for a single night or two, it is recommended that you stay near the airport or the Dubai Mall, since this is one section of the city that you should not skip during a brief layover in the UAE.

TIP: Although staying close to the airport is less expensive than staying in the city center, staying close to the Dubai Mall provides you with greater freedom and allows you to spend more time exploring.

Good price-quality hotels at Dubai Airport:

  • Hotels in Dubai include the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport, Le Méridien Dubai HotelConference Center, Al Bustan Rotana – Dubai, and Al Bustan Rotana – Abu Dhabi.

Good price-quality hotels close to Dubai Mall:

  • Sofitel Dubai Downtown (conveniently located near the Dubai Mall metro station)
  • Steigenberger Hotel – Business Bay
  • Sofitel Dubai Downtown (conveniently located near the Dubai Mall metro station).

Luxury hotels close to Dubai Mall:

  • It is possible to book rooms with views of the Burj Khalifa as well as the Dubai Fountain at the Palace Downtown Dubai. The location is the Dubai Mall Hotel (rooms with views of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain are available)
  • The address is The Armani Hotel Dubai (located within the Burj Khalifa structure and offering spectacular views of the Dubai fountain)

As a result, here is our guidance to a brief layover in Dubai. I hope you were able to get some inspiration for the greatest activities to do during a stopover or a brief layover in Dubai. There is simply so much to see and do in the city that it is impossible to recommend a single layover plan that is suitable for everyone. Any of the possibilities listed above, however, will be a fantastic decision for your Dubai layover, in my opinion. Take pleasure in your journey! Where to eat in Dubai

Dubai’s eating culture is highly diversified and ethnic, ranging from high-end fine-dining establishments run by chefs such as Yannick Alléno and Heinz Beck to casual shawarma outlets. Take a walking tour of old Dubai with Frying Pan Adventures to get the inside scoop on the city’s melting pot of cuisines. The company offers fantastic foodie itineraries all year long and is based in Dubai. The Beach at JBR and The Walk at JBR are two popular dining districts for unlicensed, mid-range restaurants; the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and City Walk are two popular dining districts for high-end licensed restaurants; and Deira is a popular dining district for cheap eats (head to Al Muraqqabat Rd and Al Rigga Rd).

Where to stay in Dubai

The city is divided into two parts: ‘Old Dubai’ in the north, which includes the districts of Deira and Bur Dubai around Dubai Creek; and ‘New Dubai’ in the south, which includes the strictly modern skyscrapers of Downtown Dubai, DIFC, and Dubai Marina. Although Dubai is known for its palatial hotels and five-star beach resorts, there is a good selection of hotels and apartments to suit all budgets. Because it’s a very little city that’s easy to navigate, you can stay at the beach while still seeing the sites easily.

Downtown Dubai is home to some of the world’s most luxurious city hotels, including the Armani Hotel and The Palace Downtown, while nearby Business Bay and Al Habtoor City, which are across the Dubai Canal, also offer top-notch accommodations with easy access to the major attractions.

Dubai’s water parks

Water parks in Dubai should be on everyone’s bucket list, regardless of their age. In addition to Wild Wadi, which is located in front of the Burj Al Arab and Aquaventure, which is located in the Atlantis resort at the end of the Palm Jumeirah and is on track to become the world’s largest water park, there are a number of other attractions (shocker, we know). They feature adrenaline-pumping slides, lazy river rapids, and fantastic kids’ sections, while the Legoland Water Park at Dubai Parks Resorts is specifically created for children from the ages of two to adolescence.

Getting around Dubai

Dubai’s metro system is both inexpensive and efficient, connecting the airport with several of the city’s most important destinations. Purchase of a Nol pre-paid smartcard (available at metro stations), which can be used on the city’s metro, tram, and bus systems is required. Taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced, and they are metered (the minimum fare is Dhs10). A taxi may be summoned at taxi stands at malls and hotels, or you can hail one on the side of the road. They are the quickest mode of transportation, with the exception of rush-hour traffic, when riding the metro is the preferred option.

A popular alternative to traditional taxis, Careemare is available.

You can also rent a bicycle through Byky, Dubai’s public bicycle rental scheme.
