you will want to start planning your trip right immediately.

Al Bastakiya and the Old Fort

Get away from the flash and glam of ‘new’ Dubai and get a taste of the city’s history. Originally set for demolition, the village of Al Bastakiya was preserved thanks to the efforts of community members who convinced developers of the importance of preserving their community’s history. The Al Fahidi Fort, which was constructed in 1787, is one of the city’s finest original mud structures, and it was used to defend the city against raids from neighboring tribes. It is presently being used as a historical museum.

Burj Al Arab

After seeing one of Dubai’s most recognized structures, the Burj Al Arab Hotel, which is designed in the style of a sailboat, you will be certain that you are in the city. “7-Star hotel” is what the guests and employees refer to it as affectionately. Although it may be a little too expensive for most of us, it is still completely free to snap a snapshot and show it off to your Nigerian friends.

Burj Khalifa

The world’s tallest tower is spectacular in photographs, but seeing it in person will be an experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. When everything is glistening at such a great height, it might be difficult to capture it all in one image. Fortunately, the observation deck is available to the public, allowing tourists to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.

Man-made islands are what established Dubai as a world-class destination, and they provide the city with enough room to grow. Visitors to the ‘Lost City of Atlantis,’ whether or whether they are staying at the luxury Atlantis Palm Hotel, will be greeted as if they were residents.

Visit Aquaventure, located within this complex, and slide down one of the several waterslides for a thrilling experience. Behind aquariums, you may explore underground grottos that are home to a variety of aquatic animals. You can get up up and personal with dolphins and even feed sting rays.

Do More than Shop at the Dubai Mall

Located around 5-10 minutes distant from the majority of Dubai’s neighborhoods, the mall is enormous. The opulent Dubai Mall requires a whole day to fully appreciate everything it has to offer. In addition to hundreds of stores and restaurants, the mall features a 22-screen multiplex movie theater, an aquarium, an ice skating rink, as well as a full theme park named Sega Republic, among other entertainment options.

Fly High Above

A helicopter tour of Dubai is the most efficient means of seeing the entire city and distinguishing the many regions of the city, as well as its towers and structures, all at the same time. Only from the air can one see the full city of Dubai, with its towering hotels, commercial sector, surrounding deserts, and the oasis of green regions produced by the golf course, racing track, and Creekside Park, which are all visible from the air.

For the Sports Minded

Golfers may take use of well-maintained golf courses in Dubai, while spectators can take advantage of many big sporting events that take place in the city. Recent notable sports contests held in Dubai include the UAE World Cup football tournament, the Barclay’s Dubai Tennis Championships, the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament, as well as important polo and cricket tournaments. Many people like going to the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse as a form of relaxation. We all know how much Nigerians like participating in sports, and you will not be disappointed if you visit the Dubai Sports World.

Green and Sea Fun

As a result of its beaches and open spaces, Dubai is the most popular tourist destination in the Middle East. Creekside Park is a 221-acre natural park that is particularly popular with families. Beaches are either free or subject to a cost. The beautiful, white sand and clear water of both the private and public beaches draw a large number of visitors each year.

Haggle at the Old Souk

A Souk is a type of marketplace that appears to have existed since the beginning of recorded history. Even while there are marketplaces in Nigeria, there is no location quite like the ancient Souk for gold buyers to go to get their fix. Vendors sell substantial golden bracelets and necklaces, as well as more modest products, at this market with a Middle Eastern flair that is packed to the brim with merchandise. It’s important to haggle in order to try to acquire the greatest deal possible.

Hit the slopes

For any Nigerian, trying anything new, particularly when it comes to snow, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. In Dubai Mall, there’s nothing like skiing in the middle of the desert to put you in the mood for a good time. The longest run in the ski center, which features snow-covered slopes, is around 400 metres long.

It’s a wonderful spot to spend time with the entire family, regardless of age. Those who are not interested in skiing may still have a good time by participating in activities such as inner tube riding and snowboarding. Rentals are available for all of the equipment.

The activities of inner tube riding and snowboarding can be enjoyed by individuals who are not interested in skiing or snowboarding.

Ride the Waves

Perhaps it is due to Dubai’s history as a fishing port that the city focuses on a diverse range of water-related attractions and activities. A total of 30 water rides are available at Wild Wadi Waterpark, ranging from the peaceful to the downright terrifying, such as the 33-meter-high Jumeirah Sceirah slide and the white-water rapids ‘river’ ride. It surely offers enough water-based activities to keep anyone occupied for the better part of a day. In order to provide entertainment, they have even created a fake thunderstorm.

See a Free Show

The Dubai Fountain, which is situated on the 30-acre man-made Burj Khalifa Lake, is designed to wow. Every night, the 1.5 million lumens of projected and colorful lights on the shooting water spouts of the world’s biggest dancing fountain illuminate the world’s largest dancing fountain. The show is set to a broad variety of synchronized music and features water that can reach the height of a 50-story skyscraper. It may be seen from every point along the lake promenade, as well as from nearby buildings and structures in the distance.

Surf the Dunes

Take a day excursion that includes a tour and participate in a desert safari in a vehicle on a day trip. Travel through the red and golden sand towers and down the dunes on sand mounds with a 300-meter drop before returning to the starting point. View the spectacular desert vistas, which make this one of the most exciting side journeys a traveler could ever do. 12 things I wish I’d known before I went to Dubai

The tourist boom in Dubai is showing no signs of abating. During the first six months of the year, the city received more than eight million foreign overnight travelers, representing a 10.6 percent rise over the same time in the previous year.

If you’re considering a vacation to the United States in the next months, here are some tips I’ve gleaned from my multiple journeys that you should be aware of.

1. There’s life beyond the skyscrapers

If you scrape beyond the surface of Dubai’s opulent wealth, you will discover a fascinating culture that is worth learning about. Were you anticipating something like that? Make your way to the souks that line Dubai Creek, the city’s historic center, where vendors from all over the Middle East gather to sell their products. Turquoise trinkets from Iran, silver jewels from Oman, and dates from Saudi Arabia may all be found here for bargain prices. There’s even a stunning gold souk dedicated to the precious metal — well worth a visit even if you don’t intend to buy anything.

2. The food is fantastic

Dubai’s vibrant culinary industry is one of the many advantages of having such a large expat population: there are several meal options to choose from. Moreover, it is not limited to high-end dining establishments — although there are many of those as well. In the Bur Dubai neighborhood, you may savor Iranian, Filipino, Yemeni, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, and even Afghan cuisines, among others. Frying Pan Food Adventuresprovides a variety of entertaining gastronomy tours. Bur Dubai is home to some of the best Indian street cuisine in the world.

  • Is this the world’s most underappreciated foodie destination?

3. You don’t need a burkini

A bikini will do the trick. Despite the fact that the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country, it is not as conservative as you might assume. Dress in the manner in which you would in Europe: shorts and skirts are acceptable. In addition, there is no requirement to conceal your hair. The use of a burkini is not required. Credit:alamy

  • And more.

4. But bring a coverup

Because of all of the air conditioning, the retail centers are freezing. You’ll also want one if you intend to take a guided tour of the Jumeirah Mosque, which is highly recommended.

5. Taxis are cheap

Although the Metro is less expensive, the majority of its stations are in inconvenient places. Instead, take a cab — and remember to tip the driver. What is the most efficient method of avoiding traffic on The Palm? Helicopters. Credit:alamy

6. The Palm is underwhelming

Take heed, urban planners: a palm tree does not make an appropriate form for an island. What a nightmare the traffic is! Those residing on the fronds will have to travel an additional half-hour in order to reach to Dubai Marina or Downtown – otherwise known as Dubai’s party spots.

7. There is alcohol

And there’s a lot of it. The sale of alcoholic beverages is restricted to hotel restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, which may seem strange at first, but is not in fact the case. From pubs with terrific live music to high-end Champagne bars, there’s a drinking establishment to fit any occasion in the city of London. Consult Time Out Dubai for ideas, or ask your concierge for suggestions. Before getting into a cab or going home, be sure you are not staggeringly intoxicated. This is strongly discouraged and may result in a police investigation being launched.

This isn’t your typical hotel bar.

8. Kissing is a no-no

Avoid smooching in public places since this will draw unwanted attention to yourself and your partner. Nightclubs, hotels, the backs of cabs, and the beach are all examples of where this is true.

Several cases of couples getting detained for “having sex” in public locations have been told to us throughout the years. A casual kiss in public might land you in the same kind of problems as a serious infraction.

9. When it’s hot, it’s HOT

In the summer, the temperature is, to put it mildly, absurdly high. When the temperature is above 55 degrees Celsius in the shade, you have around a 60-second window before you transform into a dripping, puce-colored mess. Visit between November and March to enjoy a less humid environment.

10. Stop looking at the skyscrapers

Pavements in Dubai are shaky at best and non-existent at worst, making it difficult to get about. Keep your gaze fixed on the ground, or hire a cab as the locals do, and gawk to your heart’s content!

11. The spas are amazing

Even the most discerning spa connoisseur will find something to rave about – and for those who are unfamiliar with luxury spas, nothing will quite compare to what they will experience in Dubai. Avoid the beauty clinics found in shopping malls (although they offer a good mani-pedi), and instead book a stay at one of the luxury hotels — they’re expensive, but well worth it. Jumeriah Zabeel Sarayand is a name in the music industry. The Palace Downtown Dubai hotels are exceptionally nice, and there are frequently discounts available (especially during the summer months).

12. Malls are actually quite fun

Pay little attention to the folks who smell the beautiful malls in Dubai. Sure, they aren’t “culturally enriching,” but they are tremendously entertaining. In one of these sparkling temples of capitalism, you might easily lose track of time. Aquariums, ski slopes, ice rinks, movies, and other attractions are all available. A complete ‘district’ (district!) dedicated to shoes can be found at the Dubai Mall, which is the most impressive of the bunch.

10 reasons to visit Dubai

Dubai, which sprung from the Arabian desert, is a metropolis bursting with ambition, boasting everything from mega malls to some of the world’s tallest structures and the world’s biggest manmade islands. Weather-wise, Dubai can get quite hot in the summer, so the ideal time to visit is between November and January, when you can enjoy clear skies and picture-perfect beach weather. 4. Individuals go from near and far to indulge in retail therapy and to explore the attractions that have been integrated into shopping malls.

  6. In the heart of the Arabian Desert, Dubai is home to a ski slope, which is unique in the world.
  7. 5.There is a booming gastronomy culture in the city.

When you consider the plethora of culinary festivals that take place throughout the year, as well as the constant inflow of pop-up restaurants, it’s no surprise that people joke about newcomers putting on the ‘Dubai stone.’ 6.There are 1,000 kilometers of beach to enjoy.

With more than 300 days of sunlight each year and more than 1,000 kilometers of coastline, you’ll never be too far from the beach to get a tan on the sand.

The Dubai Design District has just recently opened, and with a slew of art and design events, such as Art Dubai and Design Days, taking place throughout the year, there’s always something interesting to see and do for those with an eye for beauty.

With around 200 different nationalities calling Dubai home, and a whopping 90 percent of the population hailing from countries other than the UAE, it is perhaps one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, according to some estimates.

The level of diversity on display in the metropolis is unrivaled.

The Dubai Fountain is a really entertaining sight for everyone, but children in especially will enjoy it!

It’s about 1,000 feet long and sprays water up to 500 feet into the air, all while being accompanied by a variety of classical, contemporary, Arabic, and global music.

10th, let’s not neglect to include the Palm Island In 2001, construction began on what would become the world’s biggest artificial island, Palm Jumeirah. It is home to multi-million dollar residences as well as a number of five-star luxury hotels, including the famed Atlantis The Palm.

10 Reasons Why I Want to Visit Dubai

Dubai, a city whose name is synonymous with magnificence and refinement, is unquestionably one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet. What with the Dubai Canal, the Dubai Eye, the Museum of the Future, and so many other attractions, there is no shortage of things to see and do in this beautiful city, is there? Dubai has been on my “to-visit” list for quite some time now, and I hope to make it there soon! These are the reasons why I wish to travel to Dubai and learn more about it.

01 | Dubai Parks and Resorts

I would want to spend at least 2 to 3 days exploring the Dubai Parks and Resorts. This magnificent location is home to three mind-blowing theme parks as well as a thrilling water park. Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai, and Legoland Water Park are among the attractions offered by Dubai Parks and Resorts. There is a plethora of amusement for movie enthusiasts, including interactive attractions, rollercoasters, and water slides.

02 | Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa tour is a must-see sight for me because it is, without a doubt, the world’s highest structure. What is the significance of the Burj Khalifa? For starters, there are breathtaking views of the city, as well as the Burj Lake and the Dubai Fountains. Not to mention the fact that the Burj Khalifa is an incredible sight to behold — all 2700 feet and more of it! The Burj Khalifa’s outstandingly distinctive Islamic architecture places it in a class by itself among the world’s tallest structures.

03 | The Dubai Mall

The Dubai Mall is a truly massive structure! In addition to stores and restaurants, the mall features an aquarium, an ice skating rink, the Sega Republic amusement park, a 22-screen multiplex movie theater, and a variety of other attractions. Its aquarium, in particular, is one of the most impressive undersea marine expositions ever staged anywhere in the globe. Even though I don’t do much shopping, a day at theDubaiMall is sure to make me feel like a king or queen! Check out this article: Where to Stay in Dubai – A Guide to Accommodation.

04 | Dubai Fountain

Located on the 30-acre constructed Burj Lake, the Dubai Fountain is a sight to see at night. I plan to cruise the lake to witness the dance of the fountain. It is lighted by millions of lights, and the shooting water spouts may reach heights of up to 50 stories in height. My itinerary for my downtown sightseeing day includes a stop at this must-see attraction. The following is a recommended read: Things to do in Dubai on a Budget

05 | Jumeirah Mosque

The only thing I really want is to get up up and personal with the magnificent design of this iconic Dubai landmark, which can accommodate up to 1,200 worshipers. The white marble sparkles in the sunshine and takes on a magnificent radiance when illuminated by the night. The two twin minarets surround a massive central dome, which provides a spectacular sight when it is fully illuminated at twilight. It’s just fantastic! 06 | Palm Islands

The distinctive palm-shaped form of these islands, according to reports, can be seen clearly from space. My seat on the next rocket they launch will be taken by someone else, so I’ll take a trip up to the islands. The Palm Islands are quite breathtaking to see, with kilometers of white sand shoreline surrounded by hotels, residential buildings, and parks along the coastline.

The Burj Al Arab and The Palm Atlantis Hotel are two of the most notable structures on the Palm Islands, and they are both world-renowned monuments. Recommended reading: Things to do in Dubai with Kids (with pictures).

07 | The Lost City of Atlantis

The Lost City, with its intriguing glass subterranean grottos harboring a diverse array of aquatic life, is one of my ideal vacation spots. The Lost City is a genuine reconstruction of the City of Atlantis as we believe it to have been thousands of years ago. I’m also looking forward to spending some quality time with the friendly dolphins. Palm Atlantis is a luxury unto itself; it is wave-shaped, whereas the Burj Al Arab is sail-shaped, and it is located in Dubai.

08 | Burj Al Arab

I will not be staying at the seven-star Burj Al Arab, but that does not exclude me from wanting to visit it. I’d want to snap photos of the fleet of Rolls-Royces that are parked outside the entrance to the world’s highest hotel, which is now under construction. It will cost between $1100 and $9000 to stay here for a night, and I am keen to find out why. The Asswan Lounge at the Burj Khalifa is where I’ll have tea for AED 180 and then go on a tour of the Burj. Seeing as many of the 56 levels constructed for the Richie Riches of the globe as possible is my goal.

09 | Gold Souq

Dubai’s gold is regarded as being ‘cheap.’ This might be because the gold here is less expensive than in other locations, yet there is nothing inexpensive about the Gold Souqs! The historic Gold Souk marketplaces may be found in Bur Dubai, Deira, and the central business area, among other places.

10 | The Desert

Where else than the United Arab Emirates will I be able to embark on a guided desert safari excursion across a mysterious Middle Eastern desert full of mystery? I intend to ride camels in the desert, do sand boarding, dune bashing, and do a variety of other activities. In Jaisalmer, I wished I could lie outside my tent at night and watch the stars emerge from the darkness of the desert sky, like I did there. So much is made of the new, glamorous and glittering Dubai that I’d like to see a little bit of the old Dubai as well as the new.
