Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo – meet the animals

I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. When I was a little kid in school, I’d anxiously await my turn to take home the class hamster for a week at a time. It was a wonderful period of time. Then, when the big day finally arrived – to to the dismay of my parents, who had the unenviable chore of cleaning out the cage – I was, shall we say, unimpressed by the experience. It turns out that hamsters aren’t all that interesting. It wouldn’t let me take it out of its cage unless it was sleeping or eating, which was pretty much all day, every day.

Not really the Wild Thornberrys experience I had in mind (those of you who grew up in the 1990s will understand).
I did have a golden Labrador named Troy, but that was a contentious topic.
You might be asking yourself this question.
Whatever my dismal experiences with various animals have been, I have never lost up hope in them.
It is possible to touch otters, feed stingrays, and see the crocodiles being fed by professionals from within their enclosure as part of the experience.
I make the decision to give them all a go.
I begin my day with a visit to the crocodiles.
