The ties between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are referred to as Qatar–United Arab Emirates relations (UAE). Both nations share a maritime boundary and are both part of the Arabic-speaking Persian Gulf area, which includes Kuwait. They are both members of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The United Arab Emirates severed diplomatic ties with Qatar on June 5, 2017, as part of the ongoing diplomatic crisis with Qatar. Qatar and the United Arab Emirates reached an agreement on the restoration of full diplomatic relations on January 6, 2021.

The two leaders came together to establish a joint investment fund. On November 28, 2014, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, paid a visit to Doha and had talks with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the ruler of Qatar and a member of the ruling family.
History
WhenHamad bin Khalifa Al Thanideposed his father to become emir of Qatar in 1995, the United Arab Emirates offered him shelter in a quarters inAbu Dhabi, where he remained until his death in 2002. In an attempt to arbitrate between the father and his son, SheikhZayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan encouraged Khalifa bin Hamad to express his congratulations to his son. As a result of the Qatar diplomatic crisis in 2018, the coup affair was reignited, with Al Jazeera broadcasting documentaries with new details accusing the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Egypt, of plotting to overthrow Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and reinstate his father, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.
Anwar Gargash, the UAE’s minister of foreign affairs, responded to the documentary by stating that Paul Barril was, in fact, a security agent for Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani who visited Abu Dhabi and had no connection to the UAE, and that the documentary was a fabrication intended to incriminate the United Arab Emirates.
2014 Riyadh Agreement
As a result of Qatar’s claimed failure to comply by an agreement not to intervene in the internal affairs of these nations, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain withdrew their ambassadors from the country in March 2014. It was the UAE’s backing for the political administration in Egypt led by Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Egypt’s military elite, as opposed to Qatar’s support for the democratically elected Muslim Brotherhood, that was the primary source of contention. The government of Qatar has continued to support the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and Qatar’s emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has criticized el-election Sisi’s as president as a’military coup’ since his election as president in June 2014.

2017–2021 Qatar diplomatic crisis
As a result of Qatar’s support for terrorism, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Bahrain broke diplomatic ties with the country on June 5, 2017. This was triggered by statements broadcast by the Qatar News Agency in May 2017 in which Saudi Arabia was chastised and Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood were portrayed in a favourable light, respectively. Despite Qatar’s denials that it was behind the communications, the country claims that its news agency was compromised. As part of the process of breaking diplomatic ties with Qatar, the four nations indicated above banned all Qatari news sources.

The Dolphin Gas Project, which connects Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, is the first cross-border refined gas transmission project in the Gulf Cooperation Council. As the project’s operator, it is responsible for all of the project’s upstream, midstream, and downstream phases. Dolphin Energy is owned 51 percent by Mubadala Development Company, which acts on behalf of the government of Abu Dhabi, and 24.5 percent each by Total S.A.

Difference Between Qatar and Dubai
Qatar vs. the United Arab Emirates However, Dubai is a city inside the Emirate of the same name, but Qatar is an autonomous state in the Middle East and North Africa. Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, and it is the capital of that country. Dubai metropolis has expanded at an exponential rate and is no less attractive or prosperous than any other city in the western world, despite its relatively young age. Qatar is also expanding at a rapid rate as a result of the country’s vast petroleum reserves.

1.Re: Would you prefer to visit Dubai again or Doha for the first time? 9 years ago today Yes, it is on par with the United Arab Emirates in terms of development. What I don’t understand is why people keep repeating this. If it helps you visualize it, Doha is a little bit larger than Abu Dhabi. Qatar is the country I would choose. Normally, even though I reside in Qatar, I recommend that people visit Dubai first since it is more tourist-friendly; but, given that you have previously been Dubai several times, I would recommend visiting Qatar as a distinct experience.
Ali Baba’s legendary cave is said to have been located in northern Qatar, and there is a spot where you may go view it if you like.
Initially, British settlers arriving in Qatar would observe the Oryx from a distance and believe it to be a horse with a single horn.
