Is it permissible to wear hot pants in Dubai? That is a question that I have been asked many times in the past. The moment I stepped out of the hotel, I saw a large number of individuals in the metro system, cafés, and restaurants wearing hot pants and other similar costumes – this is not against the law. I’m going to guess that most people won’t even bother to glance at you. However, I felt uneasy exposing too much skin when there were foreign employees around, particularly those from countries such as Afghanistan or Pakistan.

As a result, I propose that you consider your clothing options. They are unquestionably an excellent choice for strolls around the magnificent Marina, the Palm, or many other regions of Dubai, but they are also appropriate for more conservative locations such as Dubai Deira.

While visiting the Grand Mosque (also known as the Sheikh Zayed Mosque), you can get complimentary gowns and scarves to wear for the length of your stay.

In this situation, there isn’t much of a difference between it and churches and other places of worship — it’s just a little tighter. They take it extremely seriously, and there is no place for ambiguity in their language.

What to Wear in the Desert in Dubai

• Good walking shoes, a (floppy) hat, and a cardigan (it can become cool in the evenings) are also recommended. Dress in bright colors and with relaxed garments.

EXTRA SUGGESTION: When taking photographs, wear outfits that are bright and stand out. Any bright hue, such as a yellow or red maxi dress or any other bright color, can make you appear even more beautiful in photographs.

Men Dubai Dress Code

The good news for guys traveling to Dubai is that the requirements are less stringent than they are for women.

The bad news is that you still can’t dress as you want, and you can’t wear it wherever you want. Men’s dress codes in Dubai are as follows, if you are curious about what to wear in the city:

• Men can dress in western clothing, such as jeans, sweatpants, and shorts, if they like. They can also dress in singlets, flip-flops, and other summer attire. In order to be courteous and avoid drawing negative attention (or worse), you should refrain from wearing shorts or tops that are excessively short (and finish much higher than the knees), as well as see-through shirts or pants. Wearing short sleeve shirts and shorts that reach your knees (or almost reach your knees) is perfectly acceptable. In most mosques, long pants are required
• However, there are exceptions. At the beach, you have the option of going topless. However, limit your “top-less time” to the beach and cover up with a short if you venture outside of the beach area. One exception would be if you were to dress in authentic Arab attire.
