Nol Cards can be used on a variety of modes of transportation (Metro, buses, water buses). As long as the transfer periods between different modes are adhered to, passengers will only be charged once, depending on the duration of their travel (30 minutes maximum permitted).
Fares
The fare is charged at the conclusion of the voyage and is determined by the number of zones that have been traversed. Nol Cards were launched to make it easier to pay for public transportation (Dubai Metro, buses etc.). Since its introduction, their popularity has grown. Nol Cards may now be used to pay for a wide range of services and commodities, including the following:

- Shopping – Circle K (convenience store), Carrefour, and LuLu are just a few of the stores that accept Nol Cards. Restaurants – Nol Cards can be used to purchase food and beverages at establishments such as Burger King and Gloria Jean’s Coffees. Parking – The most recent parking meters (which were installed in 2020) allow cars to pay for their parking without having to acquire a printed ticket. Drivers need just enter their license plate number on the parking meter’s touchscreen and pay with a Nol Card (or coins) to leave their vehicle. Public Parks — The minimal charge to enter public parks may now only be paid with a Nol Card, which eliminates the need for cash. Other Fares
Your nol Card may also be used to pay for parking at RTA’s paid parking lots and to go on the water bus system. You can ride the water bus using your nol card or nol ticket, which has a set rate of AED 2 for a one-way travel. Metro One Day Pass or Not?

How to use the Dubai Metro
