Transit Hotel in Dubai Airport, Terminal 3: Great for a Layover! – Sand In My Suitcase

Are you planning a long-distance flight with Emirates Airlines? Do you have a lengthy stopover in Dubai? At Dubai International Airport’s transit hotel, you can catch some zzz’s. That’s exactly what we did when traveling in Economy Class on Emirates Airlines between Seattle and Africa through Dubai. The Dubai International Airport (DXB) is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Layover at the transit hotel in Dubai Airport

We spend the night at the Dubai Airport Hotel (also known as the Dubai International Airport Hotel) on both of our long-distance flights to break up the long journey.

Dubai transit hotel – brilliant!

The hotel is a transit hotel located at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. On our flights, we didn’t have the pleasure of a private First Class suite, which would have been nice. We were also unable to shower onboard (which First Class passengers can do on several long-haul Emirates Airlines A380 planes). Imagine yourself singing in the shower of Emirates’ First Class cabin! (Photo courtesy of Emirates Airlines) But, at the very least, we were able to have a good night’s sleep in a quality hotel in the middle of our airline itinerary.

The hotel personnel even greeted us at the airport and escorted us to the hotel as fast as possible.

Dubai stopover

Dubai is renowned for its upscale shopping, high-rise hotels, and man-made island parks, among other attractions. Dubai serves as Emirates’ hub, and all of the airline’s flights from North America (including Seattle, San Francisco, and Toronto) to Africa or Asia make a stop there.

About Dubai:

The city of Dubai is one of the seven kingdoms that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (UAE). The Dubai government owns Emirates Airlines, Dubai International Airport, and the transit hotel located within the Dubai International Airport.

Surprisingly, there’s plenty to see and do in Dubai to make a seven-day trip worthwhile in my opinion. And, in the future, we’d like to spend more time in Dubai than just a single night.

Overnight layover in Dubai:

Located in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is one of seven kingdoms that comprise the country (UAE). The Dubai government owns Emirates Airlines, Dubai International Airport, and the transit hotel located at the Dubai International Airport. In Dubai, there’s a surprising amount of things to see and do, which makes it a worthwhile seven-day trip. Aside from spending more than an overnight in Dubai, we’d want to visit the city on a regular basis in the future.

What’s special about this Emirates Dubai layover hotel?

It is really handy to stay at a transit hotel. On a typical overseas stopover, you must pass through security before checking into a hotel for the night. However, the Emirates stopover hotel is located inside within security – making it a real transit hotel. In high-traffic transfer hubs like Singapore’s Changi Airport and New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, transit hotels may be found in abundance. It is not necessary to toss away liquids or go through security again when you stay at a transit hotel in order to catch your next aircraft.

(For example, if your flight leaves at 9:30 a.m., you can sleep until 8:00 a.m.

Dubai Airport transit tips

This is a Dubai Airport transit hotel, which means you will not be able to collect your checked bags (or you will exit security and not be able to travel to the hotel) because it is located within security. You should make sure that your checked luggage are transported to your ultimate destination. If you have an overnight stopover in Dubai, your documents are automatically saved.

Hand luggage:

Make sure you have everything you’ll need for your hotel stay in your carry-on luggage before you go.

Location of this Dubai Airport hotel

The hotel is located in Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3. In Terminal 3, there are three concourses (A, B, and C), and the hotel rooms are located on the top two levels of each concourse (A, B, and C). In fact, each concourse has its own hotel reception, making it feel like three distinct hotels. Each of the three concourses’ hotels has its own swimming pool as well (Credit: Dubai Airport International Hotel)

Emirates hotel in Dubai airport: rooms

The hotel rooms are located just over the airport’s departure gates. Because to the tall glass wall that separates the room corridors from the gates below, the rooms are extremely soundproof. Spas and small swimming pools with hot tubs are available at each of the three establishments. Are there any differences in the quality of one concourse over the other? No, not at all. We stayed in two separate concourses, and while the décor and color scheme of the rooms vary between the two, the rest of the amenities were the same in both.

The beds are the most crucial thing – they should be comfy, with cold white linens and duvets.

In the bathroom, you’ll discover items such as toothbrushes, hand lotion, shaving equipment, and other items that are handy if you don’t have those items with you in your carry-on luggage.

This Emirates airport hotel is a fine choice for an airport hotel, but it is not as lavish as you would expect from a 5-star city hotel or resort of this caliber. (Because the hotel is so busy, there is a lot of turnover, which results in some “wear and tear.”

Hotel service

The hotel rooms are located just over the airport’s departure terminals. Soundproofing is provided by a wide glass wall that separates room corridors from lower-level gates. Spas and small swimming pools with hot tubs are available at each of the three hotels. Are there any differences between the two concourses in terms of design? I don’t believe that to be the case. We stayed in two distinct concourses, and while the décor and color scheme of the rooms vary between the two, the rest of the amenities were essentially the same in each.

The mattresses, which should be comfy and covered with cool white linens and duvets, are the most crucial thing to consider.

In the bathroom, you’ll find items such as toothbrushes, hand lotion, shaving equipment, and other necessities (which is great if you don’t have these items with you in your carry-on).

This Emirates airport hotel is a wonderful choice for an airport hotel, but it is not as opulent as you would expect from a 5-star city hotel or resort in the same area.

2 Tips for booking this Emirates transit hotel

Dubai’s airport is vast, and it continues to grow as a result of the abundance of wide open flat terrain (desert) in the surrounding area. According to floor space, it is the second-largest building in the planet. Dedicated to Emirates flights solely, Terminal 3 contains three massive concourses or buildings (A, B, and C), each of which can accommodate up to 2,000 passengers. In an ideal situation, you’d reserve an overnight hotel room near the concourse from where your aircraft departs the following morning.

As a result, booking a hotel in Concourse B in the centre of the airport is definitely your best chance.

2) Email in advance:

The Dubai International Airport Hotel claims that it will make every effort to meet all of its clients at the plane, but that it cannot guarantee this. Our reservation included an email to the hotel in advance, requesting that someone meet us at the airport. Both times, we were greeted by someone from the hotel’s personnel. (This is really wonderful!)
