2021 Dubai World Cup Entries

Date:3/24/2021 It will be held at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai on Saturday, and it will be the world’s wealthiest race meeting, headlined by the $12 million Dubai World Cup (G1). On Wednesday afternoon, the post positions for the main event were drawn, which will feature some of the finest senior horses in the world competing over 2000 meters (about 1 1/4 miles), two laps of the 1 1/8 mile dirt track, on Thursday morning. Last year’s race night was cancelled due to the COVID-19 epidemic; as a result, this year’s event is being celebrated as the 25th anniversary of its inception.

  1. Prior to the commencement of the event, there was a minute of silence in memory of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum, who passed away today at the age of 75.
  2. Post positions for the main event as well as the undercard races are available for viewing on the following page.
  3. Past performances are available for free here.
  4. Mystic Guide is the 5-2 favorite (as of the time of writing, according to OddsChecker) from post 6 in the field of 14.
  5. Luis Saez, a regular rider for trainer Mike Stidham, receives the call today.
  6. When the Preakness (G1) was over, the Jose D’Angelo trainee finished third, and subsequently finished second in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1).
  7. Joel Rosario will take the helm from the ninth position.

Having won the Al Maktoum Challenge Round 1 (G2) at Meydan, he traveled to Riyadh to compete in the Saudi Cup, where he finished sixth.

The horse names are picked at random during the Dubai World Cup, and then the representative of the horse whose name was drawn comes forward to draw the post, as has been the norm.

The horse’s representative (often the trainer, although it might also be the owner or jockey) then chooses one of the small trophies, which has the post number concealed on it, to be presented to the horse.

It’s worth mentioning that only Sleepy Eyes Todd is owned by an American corporation.

The two horses entered are Capezzano from post 7 and Hypothetical from post 2.

It was him who said, “We couldn’t be more pleased.

Hypothetical is a top-class athlete who has improved race each race, and he is poised to run a dominant race.” Jose D’Angelo, a trainer for Jesus’ team, was assigned the number nine “The fact that it was in the middle made me thrilled when I saw post position 9.

I’m a big fan of the number 9, and I’m certain of it.

He had to start from the 11th position in the Breeders’ Cup Mile.

As a result, I appreciate this particular post location.” Undercard contests include the Sheema Classic (G1) and the Dubai Turf (G1), which are both 2410 meters (approximately 1 1/2 miles) in length and 1800 meters (about 1 1/8 mile) in length, respectively.

When it comes to the Sheema Classic, which is carded immediately before the main event, Chrono Genesis (post 8) and Mishriff (post 10) are both 11-4 favorites, with Mogul (1) the 7-2 third choice.

The $1.5 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) features top dirt sprinters who will compete over 1200 meters (6 furlongs), including 9-2 Yaupon (2) and 5-1 Matera Sky (4).

In addition to the five Group 1 races, three Group 2 events (all for Thoroughbreds) are also on the calendar.

The winner will receive 100 points as part of the Kentucky Derby Championship Series (although 4-year-olds will not qualify), with 9-2 Panadol (6), 6-1 France Go De Ina (10), and 6-1 Mnasek (4) expected to be the favorites.

Right: Gifts of Gold was drawn on the far outside post 14 and will be accompanied by Christophe Soumillon. Saeed bin Suroor, a trainer, stated, “We’ll do the best we can with what we’ve got, which is that he can leap well from the stalls. I’m pleased with the way the horse is training now that he’s returned from Saudi Arabia, and the horse is doing well. I’m looking forward to watching him do well on the track.” For owner Godolphin and jockey Luis Saez, favorite Mystic Guide drew the 6th post for the first time in his career.

  • I couldn’t be more pleased.” Chuwa Wizard will take the lead from post 3 under the guidance of jockey Keita Tosaki.
  • Because it is so near to the first bend, I didn’t want a particularly broad gate.” Right:Dark Circles Under the Eyes Todd was assigned post number 10 for jockey Alexis Moreno.
  • We really wanted to be on the outside, and 10 is a terrific number.
  • I am quite delighted with where we have arrived.
  • We have the ability to take the lead if necessary; he has won games when in the lead in the past.
  • “Obviously, we would have wanted a better draw, but it is what it is, and in Adrie de Vries, we have a good jockey who will ride his race as he sees fit,” trainer Fawzi Nass remarked.
  • It was him who stated, “I am really pleased with the outcome of the draw.
  • We have every reason to believe that if he launches out well and Antonio Fresu can get him into a nice position just off the pace, he will be in an excellent position to contend for the win.
  • Dallas Stewart, a trainer, subsequently stated, “We would have liked a bit more time outside, but we are content with what we have.

Not too shabby.” On Saturday, the irons will be in the hands of new rider Ryan Moore. At right is one of the horse statues that was utilized in the drawing process. Links to the World Cup in Dubai:

Dubai World Cup

During the month of November, the EP Taylor, Royal Ascot, and Flemington horse races attract a large foreign attendance. 2915 days ago Northport· The Japan Cup attracts a lot of attention from across the world; whether or not those international horses perform as well as they used to is another question. The Japan Cup used to be a money-making opportunity for B-list horses from Europe, the United States, and Australia, but Japan’s breeding and racing program has improved significantly in recent years (along with of course a hometown advantage).

In the 1980s and 1990s, the Japanese made little impact on the international stage, and having horses constantly coming in from other countries and winning their most prestigious prize served as a wake-up call for them to begin purchasing, breeding, selling, and racing higher-quality animals in the 1980s and 1990s.

Regardless of whether or not all of the competitors are world-class athletes, the race is still considered an international event.

Not all of the animals listed above are world-beaters, but several of them are unquestionably first-class European creatures. 2915 days have passed since

The Dubai World Cup has begun and my colleague J.N. Campbell has posted his horse-by-horse analysis of the field. It is fair to say that Campbell has high hopes for the Michael Stadham trained horse -‘If this “Boy in Blue” is as sharp as everyone thinks he will be, with the accomplished Luis Saez over to ride, then he should win this race hands down,’- he wrote, and it is not difficult to see why. Some may be shocked that he did not dispatch the unbeaten Maxfield to another country, but Mystic Guide is hardly the worst possible backup plan.

  1. Chuwa Wizard will be a game where the Japanese have high expectations.
  2. A tough race in the Saudi Cup may have left many doubting his prospects, but the manner in which the race was conducted – with Knicks Go and Charlatan trying to beat each other to a pulp in the early stages – didn’t sit well with many people either.
  3. The name Jesus’ Team will be familiar to most racing fans in the United States.
  4. He has a good chance of finishing at the front of the field in the last furlong of this event.
  5. drowsy pupils Todd is a horse who I’ve been keeping an eye on for a long, but I’ve come to the point where I’ve completely lost faith in him as a serious contender in major events.
  6. Prospector, which was also noteworthy.
  7. Remember that the betting pools for this event will not be limited to the United States; they will be a part of a global pool, so it will be intriguing to observe how the money flows into this one.

Phoenix Ladies Syndicate are dreaming of Dubai World Cup Carnival success after Walking Thunder maintained his unbeaten record at Meydan on Thursday

Ahmed bin Harmash’s winning debutante lined up against ten challengers in the Lincoln Conditions Race and duly obliged with a superb performance that saw him win by four and a half lengths on his maiden attempt over a mile and a quarter. “His first outing was over seven furlongs, so today I simply wanted to teach him a little more to see whether he’d be able to make it over the mile,” says the trainer. According to jockey Connor Beasley, who spoke with the Dubai Racing Channel. “I simply rode him gently in order to aid his schooling, and everything went according to plan.” Following a strong start out of the gates, Beasley purposefully slowed the horse down, allowing it to finish in fourth or fifth position.

  • Suddenly, as the race began to turn for home, he found himself trapped behind a wall of horses, but the moment his mount moved him wide enough to see some daylight, he galloped free of the field to claim victory with plenty of time to spare.
  • The attitude of a two-year-old who has only raced twice is incredible, says the trainer.
  • ‘The first time, he was second to none in terms of plodding to the starting gate, he was good in the gates, and he performed everything a good horse should do,’ I said.
  • “It was again another outstanding victory for Walking Thunder, and he has proven time and again that he is worthy of our trust.” Pamela Cordina, the Syndicate’s principal, exulted when she said this.
  • “Many thanks to Ahmed and Connor for all of their efforts with the horse once again.” It’s the Syndicate’s third victory in as many races for the group, which was established to promote women from around the United Arab Emirates to become involved in horse racing.

They certainly have a star horse to assist them achieve their aim. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Pamela Cordina through email at [email protected] Thanks!
