Accommodation: $680

According to my calculations, $680 for 14 nights in Dubai was a really good price. The whole cost, including Airbnb fees, comes to around $48.57 per night. Because hotels are too costly and I don’t want to stay in hostels, I always reserve Airbnbs when traveling. If you’re interested, you can check out my Airbnbhere and receive a $40 discount from me!) in my immediate vicinity I did not remain in the heart of the city. I stayed with a nice young Indian family in the Kamara area, which is a residential Indian community.

1. Even though they share a bathroom, they have a daily cleaner who ensures that it is always clean.
2. I was wondering whether to stay here or in a room just adjacent to the Dubai Mall when I booked my reservation (which was a tad more expensive, and the room was literally a box).
3. From there, taking public transit was convenient and straightforward.
4. Despite the fact that it was a little out of the way, I enjoyed being in a local neighborhood and experiencing another side of Dubai that wasn’t just fancy structures.
5. According to my hosts, the Indian food there is even better than the meal back home in India!
6. You may enjoy a really excellent supper for as little as $5-$15 per person.
7. I honestly don’t know what I would have eaten for the next two weeks if I had stayed in the accommodation near the Dubai Mall.
8. There was just one negative aspect of the Airbnb, which was that their 4-year-old boy was somewhat.

rowdy (read: likes to run around screaming early in the morning). The family, on the other hand, was wonderful. It is strongly recommended that anyone who is interested in visiting Dubai on a tighter budget consider staying at the Airbnb that I stayed at.

Food: $279

Wow, I had no idea how much money I was spending on meals, but it turns out that it only amounts to $20 every day. You are free to spend as little or as much money as you wish on meals! I made a point of balancing off more expensive dinners with less expensive meals. The Mövenpick for brunch ($70): Let’s start with the splurges, shall we? Visiting one of Dubai’s world-famous weekend brunches was a must-do on my itinerary. Andrea was able to locate a more affordable option for us for “just” 250 AED.

4. The meal is likewise excellent, and the quantities are generous.
5. You can get away with a lot less.
6. They provide you with free limitless freshly made bread (which we were unaware of), so essentially all you have to purchase is one main course item.
7. Only three drinks were included in this price (one at a local pub and one at an exclusive cocktail bar)!
8. As a result, we were compelled to purchase costly beverages.
9. I ate in my Kamara neighborhood the most of the time the rest of the time.
10. A little café, where I could have a quick breakfast or an evening snack (dosa or idly) for a little more than a dollar, was located nearby.

Activities: $168

–Desert safari ($132): The desert safari ($132) was the only major extravagance here (see excellent pics and information!). However, I chose one of the most costly options since it was precisely what I was looking for. I chose a morning dawn safari because it included more of the things I was interested in. It is possible to go on a desert safari for far less money, so don’t be concerned. You can witness the sunset while also enjoying supper and traditional dance entertainment on most typical evening safaris, which cost between 120 AED and 180 AED ($32-50 US).

• This $35 (130 AED) ticket was the lowest one that could be found.

This appears to be a tad expensive in Dubai, in my opinion. Let’s take it step by step. –Transport from/to the airport ($26.50):It cost me 60 AED ($17 US) to go from the airport to my Airbnb. which is just 15 minutes away, so this was a significant expense. Because cabs are required to pay a parking charge, getting out of the airport is quite expensive. The cost of traveling to and from the airport is approximately half of the cost of traveling within the city. I paid 35 AED ($9.50 US) to be transported to the airport at the conclusion of the tour.

1. So if you don’t mind hauling your luggage around, you could simply go ahead and do it.
2. Afterwards, you might take a cab (or walk) from the nearest train station to your place of abode.
3. Because I was only going to be there for two weeks, I placed 80 AED ($23 US) onto my Visa card.
4. The metro costs around 5 AED ($1.35 US) each ride on average.
5. –Taxis during my stay ($24.50): I used a cab a few occasions during my visit (after late nights and in Abu Dhabi).

Shopping: $47

I think I performed very well considering the circumstances. I went to Lush and purchased a solid shampoo (which is a travel ESSENTIAL) as well as a couple of scarves (Andrea was a horrible influence on me!). It costs only $47 in total.

Miscellaneous: $33

–Data card ($27): The data card for the phone was the most expensive item in this category. Etisalat is the major telecommunications provider in Dubai. Their visiting plan, which includes 700 MB of data and 14 minutes of calling, costs 100 AED. It was a little pricey, but oh well. It is an absolute need. In the Burj Khalif gift store at the summit, I purchased a postcard for my loving ex-boss back in the United States. I haven’t gotten around to mailing it yet. –Daiso ($2): Daiso is a Japanese word that means “daisy.” I was looking for anything random and I found it.

–Junk food at the airport ($3): I did an excellent job with my money management! By the conclusion of the trip, I had just 10 AED left, so I used it to buy candies at the airport before flying home.

Other notes/tips about $$ in Dubai

• Credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) are widely accepted in almost all situations. I was able to pay with my credit card at any restaurant that wasn’t a little neighborhood joint. Because my credit card does not charge international transaction fees, this was a big benefit for me, as tipping is customary in Dubai. It is customary to leave a 10 percent tip, which means that your meals will be slightly more expensive
• Taxis may only be paid in cash. Some cabs feature a credit card swiper device, but you never appear to be able to use it to pay for your cab ride. It appears that the only items for which I need cash were taxis and the little local eateries in the vicinity of my Airbnb.
