Photographs of the exposed disconnected wire in the duct connecting the two apartments were published by the police at a press conference held by the department.
He then went to the reception area minutes later after noticing smoke.
Hotel guests are still waiting to be reimbursed for the stuff they lost and the emotional distress they experienced as a result of the fire.
Renovations on the skyscraper began in late 2016, and while the re-construction was underway, a fire broke out in another structure under construction within Downtown Dubai.
However, after the fire was doused, the smoke continued to rise and spread over Downtown Dubai. The Address Downtown Hotel’s redevelopment, including the installation of safety elements and refurbishment, was completed by the end of 2018.

Skyscraper Safety Fears After Dubai Tower Inferno
An inquiry into the cause of a massive fire that engulfed a 63-story luxury hotel in Dubai on New Year’s Eve has begun, the latest in a string of blazes that have engulfed the city’s skyscrapers in recent years. The reason of the fire is still under investigation. The fire at the Address Downtown Dubai hotel, which is located barely 600 yards from the world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa, resulted in the injuries of 14 individuals. Officials have stated that the fire did not spread within the structure, but the incident has raised concerns about the safety of the emirate’s notably towering buildings.

The blaze engulfed the side of the Address Downtown hotel, which is located in the city’s center, scattering witnesses and shoppers in a nearby shopping mall.
