2. Incredibly Diversity

According to the most recent numbers I read, the expat community accounts for more than 92 percent of the population of the United Arab Emirates. In fact, during my most recent visit, I saw that a new ziplining course had opened near the Dubai Marina, which took me sailing over the ocean and past skyscrapers! I’m certain that I’ll have to give it a shot the next time. Those in search of reasons to visit Dubai who are addicted to adrenaline need look no further.

11. The Arabian Sea

Beautiful beaches are nothing new to me, having grown up in California. In fact, after spending so much time in Malibu and on the beaches of Orange County, I’m starting to think I’m a bit of a beach expert. But I’m willing to bet you didn’t anticipate to find yourself on a beach in the Middle East. Dubai’s deep blue seas are among the most stunning in the Arabian Sea, and the city is surrounded by mountains.

Furthermore, you are not need to be a guest at a posh resort in order to enjoy the waters. It’s possible to relax on public beaches, enjoy jet-skiing, or take a boat trip on the ocean to watch the sunset. On this lovely ocean, I’ve had nothing but fantastic adventures.

12. New Sculptures Seem to Go Up Daily

Okay, perhaps a little hyperbole on my part. However, I did not visit to the United Arab Emirates in 2020 for (most likely) obvious reasons, and when I returned, there were new sculptural embellishments all around the city! Among the most notable recent additions are the unmissableDubai Frame, a giant circular covered in Arabic lettering at Dubai’s Museum of the Future, and the Jorge Marin-designed Wings of Mexico. I’m really enjoying my newfound dedication to painting and sculpture. The imposing Dubai Frame is a must-see!

13. You Can Easily Visit Musandam Oman

Just a short drive across the border into Oman will take you to the breathtaking Musandam Peninsula. In addition to breathtaking waterways and magnificent fossil-covered mountains, this region is rich in history. This was an interesting area for me. 14. Yoga and Wellness are Making an Appearance…

Every year, I witness an increase in the number of health and wellness possibilities available in Dubai. Everything from outdoor yoga (which is even provided outdoors of the Louvre Abu Dhabi!) to meditation and yoga within an art gallery are examples of this. Personally, I believe this is fantastic. From time to time, a little self-care is just what the doctor prescribed.

Additionally, exercise and health have been given a high level of attention. In addition, a large number of outdoor gyms are being built, which are open to the general public (during my most recent trip, I tried the one at Dubai Marina, which was quite enjoyable!) Vegan and vegetarian restaurants, as well as a plethora of health spas, are constantly opening. This is something I support because traveling and living abroad may be difficult at times.

16. Dubai is Easy to Get Around

There are several modes of transportation available in Dubai to bring you around the city. The Metro is a fantastic and reasonably priced choice. The ride-sharing service Uber does exist in Dubai, and I’ve lately used it quite a bit, although it’s not as inexpensive as I’d want. You can view some of Dubai’s wonderfully diversified architecture along Sheikh Zayed Road, which is the major route that runs through Downtown Dubai, and I urge that you take a trip along this stretch. There are a plethora of restaurants and ice cream stores lining the sidewalks, so consider having lunch or supper in this neighborhood one day.

18. You Can Visit the Tallest Building in the World

Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure and probably the city’s icon, is one of the most well-known destinations to visit in Dubai. It is also one of the most photographed attractions in the world. This structure, which stands at 829.8 meters tall, is a must-see. From a distance, the renowned building can be seen for miles and miles in all directions. However, you may also visit the Observation Deck on the 128th level, which offers a spectacular bird’s-eye perspective of the surrounding area.

19. The Mosques are Beautiful in Dubai

Mosques can be found every few blocks in Dubai, and each one has a distinctive design that is hard to find anywhere else in the world. Violent crime is extremely rare, and even small stealing is quite rare in this country. While it is never a good idea to leave valuables out in the open and it is always a good idea to be cautious with your money while traveling overseas, I have had to leave baggage and valuables in the car for extended periods of time between hotels with no problems. Even though I’m from a place where doors must be closed at night and when you leave the house, many individuals who live in this area aren’t concerned about it.

21. Dubai Boasts 350 Sunny Days Per Year

Finally, but certainly not least, let us talk about climate change. Yes, it does become really hot in the summer, which is something that not everyone will enjoy. Heat aside, Dubai boasts around 350 sunny days per year on average, which is very close to the number of sunny days in Southern California!

How can you possibly be miserable in one of the most beautiful areas on the planet when you live in such a beautiful place?! If this isn’t one of the most compelling reasons to travel to Dubai, I’m not sure what else could be.

22. Take a Ride on the World’s Tallest Ferris Wheel

The world’s largest Ferris wheel, which is located in Dubai, is scheduled to open to the public in 2021. The Ain Dubai tower, which stands around 820 feet tall, offers spectacular views of the Dubai skyline. Almost twice as tall as the London Eye (around 440 feet tall), Ain Dubai outshines its predecessor, the High Roller, which had previously held the distinction of highest Ferris wheel (at 550 feet tall.) This ferris wheel can accommodate up to 1,750 riders at a time and allows you to consume food and beverages as you ride.

10 Reasons Why I Want to Visit Dubai

Dubai, a city whose name is synonymous with magnificence and refinement, is unquestionably one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet. What with the Dubai Canal, the Dubai Eye, the Museum of the Future, and so many other attractions, there is no shortage of things to see and do in this beautiful city, is there? Dubai has been on my “to-visit” list for quite some time now, and I hope to make it there soon! These are the reasons why I wish to travel to Dubai and learn more about it.

01 | Dubai Parks and Resorts

I would want to spend at least 2 to 3 days exploring the Dubai Parks and Resorts. This magnificent location is home to three mind-blowing theme parks as well as a thrilling water park. Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai, and Legoland Water Park are among the attractions offered by Dubai Parks and Resorts. There is a plethora of amusement for movie enthusiasts, including interactive attractions, rollercoasters, and water slides.

02 | Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa tour is a must-see sight for me because it is, without a doubt, the world’s highest structure. What is the significance of the Burj Khalifa? For starters, there are breathtaking views of the city, as well as the Burj Lake and the Dubai Fountains. Not to mention the fact that the Burj Khalifa is an incredible sight to behold — all 2700 feet and more of it! The Burj Khalifa’s outstandingly distinctive Islamic architecture places it in a class by itself among the world’s tallest structures.

03 | The Dubai Mall

The Burj Khalifa tour is a must-see sight for me because it is, without a doubt, the world’s highest structure. What is the significance of the Burj Khalifa building? For starters, the breathtaking vistas of the city, as well as the Burj Lake and the Dubai Fountains, are well worth the visit.

04 | Dubai Fountain

Located on the 30-acre constructed Burj Lake, the Dubai Fountain is a sight to see at night. I plan to cruise the lake to witness the dance of the fountain. It is lighted by millions of lights, and the shooting water spouts may reach heights of up to 50 stories in height. 05 | Jumeirah Mosque

The only thing I really want is to get up up and personal with the magnificent design of this iconic Dubai landmark, which can accommodate up to 1,200 worshipers. The white marble sparkles in the sunshine and takes on a magnificent radiance when illuminated by the night. The two twin minarets surround a massive central dome, which provides a spectacular sight when it is fully illuminated at twilight. It’s just fantastic! 06 | Palm Islands

The distinctive palm-shaped form of these islands, according to reports, can be seen clearly from space. My seat on the next rocket they launch will be taken by someone else, so I’ll take a trip up to the islands. The Palm Islands are quite breathtaking to see, with kilometers of white sand shoreline surrounded by hotels, residential buildings, and parks along the coastline. The Burj Al Arab and The Palm Atlantis Hotel are two of the most notable structures on the Palm Islands, and they are both world-renowned monuments.

07 | The Lost City of Atlantis

The Lost City, with its intriguing glass subterranean grottos harboring a diverse array of aquatic life, is one of my ideal vacation spots. The Lost City is a genuine reconstruction of the City of Atlantis as we believe it to have been thousands of years ago. I’m also looking forward to spending some quality time with the friendly dolphins. Palm Atlantis is a luxury unto itself; it is wave-shaped, whereas the Burj Al Arab is sail-shaped, and it is located in Dubai.

08 | Burj Al Arab

I will not be staying at the seven-star Burj Al Arab, but that does not exclude me from wanting to visit it. I’d want to snap photos of the fleet of Rolls-Royces that are parked outside the entrance to the world’s highest hotel, which is now under construction. It will cost between $1100 and $9000 to stay here for a night, and I am keen to find out why. The Asswan Lounge at the Burj Khalifa is where I’ll have tea for AED 180 and then go on a tour of the Burj. Seeing as many of the 56 levels constructed for the Richie Riches of the globe as possible is my goal.

09 | Gold Souq

Dubai’s gold is regarded as being ‘cheap.’ This might be because the gold here is less expensive than in other locations, yet there is nothing inexpensive about the Gold Souqs! The historic Gold Souk marketplaces may be found in Bur Dubai, Deira, and the central business area, among other places.

10 | The Desert

Where else than the United Arab Emirates will I be able to embark on a guided desert safari excursion across a mysterious Middle Eastern desert full of mystery? In Jaisalmer, I wished I could lie outside my tent at night and watch the stars emerge from the darkness of the desert sky, like I did there. 12 things I wish I’d known before I went to Dubai

The tourist boom in Dubai is showing no signs of abating. During the first six months of the year, the city received more than eight million foreign overnight travelers, representing a 10.6 percent rise over the same time in the previous year. If you’re considering a vacation to the United States in the next months, here are some tips I’ve gleaned from my multiple journeys that you should be aware of.

1. There’s life beyond the skyscrapers

If you scrape beyond the surface of Dubai’s opulent wealth, you will discover a fascinating culture that is worth learning about. Were you anticipating something like that? Make your way to the souks that line Dubai Creek, the city’s historic center, where vendors from all over the Middle East gather to sell their products. Turquoise trinkets from Iran, silver jewels from Oman, and dates from Saudi Arabia may all be found here for bargain prices. There’s even a stunning gold souk dedicated to the precious metal — well worth a visit even if you don’t intend to buy anything.

2. The food is fantastic

Dubai’s vibrant culinary industry is one of the many advantages of having such a large expat population: there are several meal options to choose from. Moreover, it is not limited to high-end dining establishments — although there are many of those as well. In the Bur Dubai neighborhood, you may savor Iranian, Filipino, Yemeni, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, and even Afghan cuisines, among others. 3. You don’t need a burkini

A bikini will do the trick. Despite the fact that the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country, it is not as conservative as you might assume. 4. But bring a coverup

Because of all of the air conditioning, the retail centers are freezing. You’ll also want one if you intend to take a guided tour of the Jumeirah Mosque, which is highly recommended.

5. Taxis are cheap

Although the Metro is less expensive, the majority of its stations are in inconvenient places.

6. The Palm is underwhelming

Take heed, urban planners: a palm tree does not make an appropriate form for an island. What a nightmare the traffic is! Those residing on the fronds will have to travel an additional half-hour in order to reach to Dubai Marina or Downtown – otherwise known as Dubai’s party spots.

7. There is alcohol

And there’s a lot of it. The sale of alcoholic beverages is restricted to hotel restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, which may seem strange at first, but is not in fact the case. From pubs with terrific live music to high-end Champagne bars, there’s a drinking establishment to fit any occasion in the city of London. Consult Time Out Dubai for ideas, or ask your concierge for suggestions. Before getting into a cab or going home, be sure you are not staggeringly intoxicated. This is strongly discouraged and may result in a police investigation being launched.

8. Kissing is a no-no

Avoid smooching in public places since this will draw unwanted attention to yourself and your partner. Nightclubs, hotels, the backs of cabs, and the beach are all examples of where this is true. Several cases of couples getting detained for “having sex” in public locations have been told to us throughout the years. A casual kiss in public might land you in the same kind of problems as a serious infraction.

9. When it’s hot, it’s HOT

In the summer, the temperature is, to put it mildly, absurdly high. When the temperature is above 55 degrees Celsius in the shade, you have around a 60-second window before you transform into a dripping, puce-colored mess. Visit between November and March to enjoy a less humid environment.

10. Stop looking at the skyscrapers

Pavements in Dubai are shaky at best and non-existent at worst, making it difficult to get about. Keep your gaze fixed on the ground, or hire a cab as the locals do, and gawk to your heart’s content!

11. The spas are amazing

Even the most discerning spa connoisseur will find something to rave about – and for those who are unfamiliar with luxury spas, nothing will quite compare to what they will experience in Dubai. Avoid the beauty clinics found in shopping malls (although they offer a good mani-pedi), and instead book a stay at one of the luxury hotels — they’re expensive, but well worth it. Jumeriah Zabeel Sarayand is a name in the music industry. The Palace Downtown Dubai hotels are exceptionally nice, and there are frequently discounts available (especially during the summer months).

12. Malls are actually quite fun

Pay little attention to the folks who smell the beautiful malls in Dubai. Sure, they aren’t “culturally enriching,” but they are tremendously entertaining. In one of these sparkling temples of capitalism, you might easily lose track of time. Aquariums, ski slopes, ice rinks, movies, and other attractions are all available. A complete ‘district’ (district!) dedicated to shoes can be found at the Dubai Mall, which is the most impressive of the bunch.
