Since the United Arab Emirates is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination, I assumed the uncertainty would have subsided, but it appears that is not the case at all!
So, does Dubai qualify as a nation or not? Is it one of the world’s 197 countries, or is it something else? Nope. Allow me to set the record straight:

There are only so many things that can be done while lying on a Thai beach, so once you’ve checked that box, it’s time to put yourself through some serious challenges. There are no tourist buses in the Middle East, no dorms full of college students, and you are truly on the road in this region. And Dubai is an excellent starting point for such an endeavor. This part of the UAE is significantly more liberal (in the Western sense) than much of the rest of the country, and it serves as an excellent introduction before you embark on tours to Syria or Iraq, such as the ones I took my readers on (read about them on those links, they were fantastic trips!).
However, the UAE is not inexpensive, so don’t plan on staying for too long.
It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Another is Jebel Ali, which also happens to be the location of one of the largest ports in the Middle East. Hatta is a magnificent town surrounded by natural beauty, and it is located on the border with Oman. It is surrounded by a stunning lake and mountain range.

Muslims are not permitted to eat or drink between the hours of sunrise and dusk (with some small exceptions). In order to foster a respectful environment during this time, Dubai has strict laws prohibiting people from eating in public places. Having said that, laws have become more lenient over time, and many, many eateries are now open during the day, usually with partitions or curtains to ensure privacy.
Many schools, government agencies, and companies will adjust their hours to allow for a relaxation period in the afternoon, with everything resuming their normal schedules following the evening “Iftar,” or the breaking of the fast, which takes place after sunset.
Do I need a visa to visit Dubai?
Yes. You may need to arrange this in advance in certain situations; however, citizens of twenty different countries are eligible to receive a FREE 30-day visa on arrival in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Citizens of an additional 40 countries can apply for a 90-day multiple entry visa, which is valid for repeated entries. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai (also known as Dubayy) is a city on the Persian Gulf that serves as the capital. Its southern border is with Abu Dhabi, its northern border with Sharjah, and its southern border with Oman. Dubai is surrounded by the Arabian Desert on three sides. In 2018, the city’s population surpassed 2 million people.
Oil was found off the coast of Dubai in 1966, and despite the fact that the emirate has less oil than its neighbor Abu Dhabi, oil profits, combined with other economic activities such as aluminum, have helped to make the emirate wealthy.
Capital and Major Cities
Dubai is the name of the emirate’s capital and largest city, which is also where 90 percent of the emirate’s population resides, in and around the city. According to population estimates for 2019, the country’s population was 2.8 million, having increased by more than 230,000 people in the previous year. More than 4 million people live there during the daytime, which includes those who aren’t citizens or residents.
Area and Land Expansion

Walking time from one end of the corniche, beginning pointEmirates Palace Hotel, to the other end, Mina Dhow port, will take around 2 hours or 25 minutes on a bicycle, depending on your speed.
